    Hi all,

I am looking into getting one of the iPod interface units from either Peripheral or US Spec (?). I saw one setup (on cardomain) where the guy used Peripheral interface part# PXDP, and the wiring harness part# PXHTY3. I have also seen that a PXDP2 is offered and am wondering if there was a consensus here on the most functional/reliable unit(s). Thanks for the help, I have a 8 hour trip coming up soon and would really like to try and get it together before then!

    Thanks!

I have the PXDP ipod2car in my 07 truck w/ 6 disc changer (steering wheel controls/etc).

    Here's a write-up on the install
    http://aaronlinsdau.com/gear/articles/ipod2car.html

I've had this paticular unit for 3 years or so and still running strong. It was originally installed in my Dodge Ram and swapped it over to my Tacoma.

I ordered it off ebay and I'm using the PXHTY3 harnass.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
I have the PE unit -- couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! Janster, does that combination show the text for the song on the stereo display and does it let you control the ipod manually as well as through the stereo?

    No text....
The only thing you can do through the steering wheel controls or the stereo, is next track/song or back track/song & volume. I think you can fast forward but I'm not sure (I don't use it anyway).

You have to use the ipod itself to pick playlists, artists, etc.

The only one that I know that will show text is the USA-Spec. I love my iPod2car though I have my ipod mounted with a RAM Mount so it is at my finger tips.
