I know you have to adjust the audio levels on the stock radio when its pluged in and set to aux. Once you set them they stay saved. Its different from the radio setting too, so.... Where at in chicago. Im on the far southside

Mine was a bit heavy on the bass. untill I replaced the stock speakers. It would be hard to find speakers as cheaply made as stock, a plastic frame, come on.. Make sure the Ipod settings are without bass boost.

ah, yeah im just using the aux port. Yeah try doing that. Sometimes a pain in the ass to get them sounding right. Im worried if i upgrade speakers theyre not going to sound right without proper amperage

Get the interface first......... took less than 10 min. to install. $200 at tacoma parts store. The aux is worthless. I tried it and called the dealer and they gave it to me free. They bought back my 2000 TRD for $13,732.... for rust recall. New it was $24,000 which means after 10 years the 2000 cost $1,000 a year to drive. If you keep the stock head unit check out Infinity Reference 6020cs 6-1/2"/6-3/4" 2-way 2ohms. 93db@1 watt. free mounts and harness. at Crutchfield. Open box for $118.00
