Anybody have one of these? 3rd gen?

Was wondering if i ripped DVD's, could i copy them over and watch them on the ipod?

Not sure what format they would have to be in. Getting the wife one for christmas and was going to put some movies on it for her before hand. Some sappy chic flicks...should get me some brownie points...

I have a 2nd gen, pretty much the same. Typing on it right now, I love this thing. Google DVD to iPod and there are all kinds of programs to do this. Probably about 25 bucks or so, maybe free if you know where to look, I dont. Great present by the way...should get lucky from that one!

I thought you compressed it to an .avi file. Can't remember it's been awhile and I have only done it with "Iron Man"

Just google it and you should have some free programs pop up.

Yea you can rip dvd's and format them for your iPod. However the process takes FOREVER!!

If you don't mind spending the money, it's easier to purchase movies or rent them from iTunes. Also, you can find some movie torrents that are already in iPod format that can be downloaded.

It's an amazing device! The programs (apps) that are available on iTunes are really cool. Lots of games and other useful programs. They range in price from free to a few bucks for the most part. There are some specialized apps that are expensive.

    She's gonna love it!!

    Cheers.
