    We can't afford the two wars we're fighting now...literally. There is no money to pay for them.

    Endless military engagements in middle east quagmires is how the Soviet Union went bankrupt and collapsed. I really don't see why so many people are in a hurry to follow their example.

    The comparison between when the Soviets were in Afghanistan and us isn't that far off. Granted, the motivation was different but the support of a third nation to counter Soviet or in this case U.S interest is ironic, "speaking of Iran" that is.

    The US essentially rented Israel during the Cold War so we could have a place to stick a whole bunch of military power to keep the Soviet satellite states worried. Essentially, we armed the shit out of Israel and sent them a bunch of aid money. Since they needed the weapons anyway because religious wackos in the middle east (and just about everywhere else) want to wipe out the Jews, they said "sure, why not".

    As to why we CONTINUE that policy...that's a little more murky and drifting dangerously close to political talk, which as I understand it is verboten.

    Iraq? Afghanistan?

    Newsflash: We still have plenty of "advisors" in place. Just like we had "advisors" in Vietnam before it became a "military action" to "support the Democratic South Vietnamese Government".

    If you have actually drawn the conclusion that we are only involved in one war, there is no meaningful conversation to be had with you.

    IM not going to give a history lesson of all the countries that want to destroy Israel. Neither am I an expert about that ive stated that. I do know that most of their military might was purchased from us in some sort of agreement so obviously we had to be on the same page at somepoint is all im saying.
