So the fact that we're dumping gobs of funding and equipment into the Iraqi armed forces doesn't count?

You're right, we're not involved

Maybe I wasn't clear before: Economically, we're fighting two wars. You can define "war" all you want. Reality will wander by in the background while you debate semantics with yourself. Our troops may be out of Iraq (depending on how you define "troop"). Our money isn't. And won't for a long time, if ever.

    1. We supported the Balfour Declaration 1917
    2. We get a ton of intel from mossad
    3. They bought our weapons so we could field test them against Soviet weapons. (Ironicaly Egypt is the largest recipitant of US foreign aid)

Ultimately it's just sabre rattling from Iran. We can't afford another war. We dont have the military to do it, nor will the politiciticans allow us to win that type of conflict.

Iran is also only about 40% supportive of the current regime. Back in the 70's before shit hit the fan, Iran was very pro western and very progressive. That percentage of the population would very much like to see it return that way. It's no secret they want nukes and the US and Israel will do what ever they can to slow the process. Even if they had them i cant see a scenerio where they would use them where they would benefit from the outcome. They support a lot of bad guys, but it's just to make a buck.

Expect to see more sanctions and UN involvment, and a few assassinations.

This is almost too political for this forum. I am truly worried about the implications of a Nuclear Iran. Russia has warned Israel not to attack Iran...Iran wants to eliminate Israel....If Israel attacks Iran, we historically have been an ally of Israel.....Is Russia (Putin) supporting Iran???

Many hear are too young to remember the "cold war".....

Watch the movie 13 days once.... We were pretty close to Nuclear annihilation...

Next to us? Fuck son, you haven't been paying attention - they are us. We paid for all the shit. It's not like Israel could exist on its own without US support.

Israel is not going to touch Iran without the blessing of the US. And we will never give it unless Iran acts first. The middle east has achieved a poor approximate of stability over the past five years, now that we've occupied roughly half of it. The Powers That Be would like that situation to remain as it is (with less insurgency, if possible) for as long as possible.

You know, I have a buddy who's dad spent a few years in Iran working in the 70s before the theocratic coup. Said it was a beautiful country, and he hates what it's become.

Also, we still have a ton of forces staying in Kuwait as a deterent, the 7th fleet is stationed in Bahrain, it's enough to keep Iran quiet.

Dont forget the media will blow it out of porportion as well.

We are aiding pakistan as well 3 wars now? how about lybia 4 wars? Sudan 5 wars? really now we support soo many countries in foreign aid that is a completely different from having boots on the ground. yes there is still money flowing into Iraq. But billions less.

I dont like it but , meh, really whats one more nuke in an region that already has them , all controlled by under developed, fanatical nutjob leaders that will go batshit on the drop of a hat & that includes israel too.

Pakistan has nukes, India, so on.

But speaking of israel I say fuck them too until they man the fuck up & really come clean about an unprovoked "Terrorist Attack" they knowingly did on the USS Liberty back in the 60's

This event is largely never spoken about.. If anyone disagrees , please watch this doc. & see if your opinion changes a little, this is NOT conspiracy, this is historical fact.....

Israel will use the bunker buster bombs they purchased from the US in the last couple years. Look for this to happen in the Spring of 2012, or sooner. The US will provide them with all the intelligence they need including covert air support. If the conflict escalates you'll see the use of tactical small yield nuclear weapons. In no way will the US allow Iran to reign terror on the Middle East, even their neighboring countries support the West, read the US, even though they're hesitant to publicly voice it. Expect to see the price of oil to skyrocket until the friendly OPEC countries adjust their output to relieve the pressure. Not a pretty scenario, but one necessary.

Just be grateful Canadia isn't a Super Power. ;)

Don't forget HOA (Horn of Africa) with the decrease in Military spending and force reduction, Special Operations will actually see a increase in their budgets. Call it best bang for the buck.
