When should someone use Iron X? I've seen pics of white cars with small red/orange rust spots and someone said it was iron spots. Since it's more noticeable on white cars, should I use it on my wife's Rav4 even though I don't see any of those rust spots?

Yeah it's good to use it on all cars, regardless of color. It's even good to use it on new vehicles due to transport contaminants (rail dust, etc). That staining you see on white cars happens on all cars if the iron particles are present.

I agree with harpolith 100%. Great product to ensure no iron particles are in the paint, that plus clay will ensure your paint is ready for, compounding, polishing, sealing and or waxing

Is Iron X the only brand or is there one that is better?

IronX is the one I hear about the most. There are others. If it were me, I'd just go for the IronX. It's a proven winner.

If price is a concern, you won't save more than a coupla bucks anyway on a different brand.

You can check out autogeek.net as they have a ton of products. But I would just go with iron X

I've been using 3D BDX Brake Dust Remover. It's safe on paint. 24 oz bottle for $16.99 vs 16 oz bottle of Iron-X for $17.99.

I've read that people don't see as much dissolving activity with the 3D?

I've read BDX has a lower content of the iron removal ingredient (compared to Iron-X) but it still works well, IMO.

So where does Iron X fall in the order of wash to sealant? Before clay? After clay?
