I bought the rear leaf springs and tried to do the bushings myself on the stock shackle and what a mess. If you want to use the poly that come with it get a shop to press them or something. I ended up buying a new shackle for one side and kept factory bushing (since truck is fairly new thought it would be non issue.)

I did some cutting and chiseling to get them out.

Oh getting the bushing out was no problem, putting the new poly bushing in from the kit was the problem. They fit fine on the leaf spring but were a bit too big for the stock shackle.

No, they fit fine. You need to press out the metal sleeve holding the old rubber bushing. Believe me, we thought the same thing!

I will take a look at my old shackle and see. We took everything out got one side to go in but other side would not go all the way in. Too much of a headache so I said f it haha

Yeah, it took us a bit to figure it out as well. There are little metal sleeves inside the shackle itself that you need to cut/press out. I wish I had taken pictures of them.

This is the stock one. You can see the metal sleeve around the rubber bushing. One on each side.

Funny you should mention. Today the "kit" arrived; 2 shocks, 2 leafs, 1 sway bar relocate. Things missing; 2 shocks, 2 front springs, and all the hardware that goes with it.

The question goes for peeps who bought from TRDParts4U. Did you guys get things delivered in one big box? From what was left at my door, it looks like they had everything separate. I'm hoping maybe the FedEx guy just left some of my lift on his truck and will see his screw up tomorrow and deliver the rest.

Thats the main reason "cheaper is better" doesn't float with me. I went with sierra expeditions... everything came from Camel on one pallet. Every single piece was together.

I hope you get the coils figured out. I have to re-do mine here soon. I am waiting on a U-bolt flip kit from relentless right now before I take everything out. I will be taking them to a store though to do it. I don't trust the store rented compressors since these springs are HEAVY.

I would call around to the smaller shops. They seem to charge less, at least in my experience so far. I am glad you didn't do it the alternate way. No way in hell would I mess with my LCA's like they did in the video.

Yep it was all separate shipments, got sent the wrong coils but they overnighted new ones. At least they own up to their mistakes. Now I'm having to take mine all apart again though cause the stupid shop I used assembled them wrong..

Yep. I still have to change mine out. I am thinking of just buying new bushings for the struts while I have them taken apart.

Well good. Seems there is hope everything will show up eventually. Website says they are not open on Saturdays :mad:. I'll still give them a call to see. Hope they are open Monday, MLK day.

Sounds good. Hopefully my U-bolt flip kit comes in this week so I can knock out all my stuff I have to do before I leave. I really need to get my old coils shipped back out to Camel...

BTW, if the old shock top nut does not come off (had a problem with mine) just dremel/sawzall it off. Thats what we had to do on my new truck.

Will this lift kit work on a 08 2wd prerunner? And do I have to purchase any thing else to make it work?
