Might just be me doing it. Hopefully not cause those constant load leafs are heavy haha. But I'll find someone.

Are you posting in the PNW thread(s)? I’m sure you could find someone willing to help for a beer or a meal lol.

Even just the performance loads were damn heavy, I’d be a little concerned about someone doing the constants alone! Can confirm the WA/OR folx are pretty helpful in the regional threads. I wish I’d just asked one of them to help me install mine. I might be able to help if you’d like, but the other active WA folx are more experienced overall so they might be more helpful to have around.

As an FYI the video skids over swapping the leaf spring shackle as well. I didn't know any better and lifted my leafs in solo before realizing and had to pull them back out.

How are you enjoying the lift so far? Curious to hear about the lower rated springs, most people I think have the higher rated ones.

I opened up my boxes to inspect the parts and the front struts are just covered in scratches and worn off paint from the piss poor packaging. Wow so glad I spent all of my money to get damaged goods. Sure it’s just the paint and anodizing but come on. This is pathetic.

I had to do a Google search to find the spring seat settings for The 3rd Gen Tacoma. I guess it will apply to my 2nd gen. Thankfully someone here on TW was smart and put the document on a thread which IM doesn’t do on their page for the Tacoma kit.

Still really pleased with it! I always speed up for the railroad tracks by my house now just cause I know I can lol. Obviously I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing that the lower spring rate is giving me a better ride than the ~800# ones would have. Not only do I have no plans for any additional weight up front, but I also only have a 4 cylinder so I'm already lighter than most folx with the v6. I think @Fletcher37 will be the one who can really tell us about the difference since he'll have experience with both springs.

I haven't been able to take it off road yet, but I was actually just telling my partner last night that I wanted to go find a forest service road to try it on this weekend. Whenever we get around to taking it out I'll definitely let y'all know how it does, I expect it'll do great! What I reeaally want to do is take it back to Moab and run this one road/trail(?) again. It wound in and out of a creek and went up into a canyon. It looked pretty tame, but it was surprisingly rough with the stock suspension. My partner was driving and I got jostled all over the cab. I'm really curious to see how the new set up takes it.

I did take it on a long road trip (8-9hrs) from Seattle down to Coos Bay, OR last week. Rode nice on the interstate and highways out to the coast, and like many have said, the nose dive when braking and body roll on corners is definitely greatly improved.

That sucks about the paint and stuff! I picked mine up so I guess they didn't get rattled around as much as they would getting shipped. I think @hyrule_trd is the big brain friend to thank for that. I was definitely glad to have that chart to reference too.

It's on the shopping list among a few other things. What did you guys mean about the shackles? I was going to leave them on the truck then mount the new leafs to the shackles after I some how get the leafs up there. Did you guys remove the shackles with the old leafs?

I can’t remember what I did. I might have taken them off with the leaf pack then swapped them to the new ones. I think @shwilly meant that they didn’t leave them on the truck, but removed them with the old leaf pack.

Yeeup. Where are you planning to do the install?

I think my mechanic took them off with the old leaf pack and swapped them onto the new too.

Thats a great review. I had the lower rated springs in my cart at IM for a few day and the sent me a coupon code so I went ahead and ordered them, after my wife agreed lol. They have a return window so I’ll try and get them in and try them out for a bit to see if they make enough of a difference. I might even wrap them in tape to protect them while they’re installed.
I think with them, my engine skid and sliders, my truck will fee like I expect…. Or at least hope so.

It says setting it at Oem setting it;l be at the designated lift height?

Im actually, not sure… I didn’t compare mine to the oem at all, besides maybe a picture comparison. I used the sheet to set it.
Your putting it on a pre runner? Is it double cab? You might want to reach out to IM and ask, since the weight difference might play a part in what setting you want. They should be able to help. Not sure though.

From my pic, you can kinda see the seat heights look like a similar distance to the bolt hole.

That's what I use to have it at but my front end was TOO STIFF so I brought it down 3 turns now it's a lot smoother actually feel like bringing it down another 3 turns because I'm just running a winch and a bumper that I built that weighs like 90 pounds lol
