Mine's a prerunner and I didn't have that issue. I do know a lot of people, myself included, that have the shocks sitting uncomfortably close to the tabs you trimmed. Did they actually interfere or did you do that preventatively because it looked close?

Welcome to the club! Sorry to hear you’re having an issue. It sounds like you tried what I would suggest, swapping them side to side. On mine, the stickers were pointed inward and would only fit in a specific way. I think the bolt holes/eyes are slightly offset to clear in one position.
I think that’s what you’re talking about. I don’t have any good pics of those on mine but good luck getting them to fit.

RSI SmartCap, Ironman4X4 heavy duty suspension, awning and rooftop tent, solar panels, full custom kitchen set up, Black Rhino Armory wheels wrapped in Hercules Ventures. Full build coming soon to All Girls Garage, season 11, episode 9, airing 8/27/2022!!!!
Ah thanks for the quick Prerunner response! Ours is long bed access cab. Not sure if that even matters, but for the sake of data and science!

They *actually* interfered - they hit and flaked off a little bit of paint on the passenger side shock before I caught it the driver's side wouldn't even install (bolt hole wouldn't line up) without the slight shave, even with the transmission jack loading the suspension as much as I could before the truck started coming up off of my lift.

I'm thinking that once we drive it home (1300 miles) the springs will settle more and perhaps the angle will open up a bit, but we only had one work day to install the full kit and so I just had to keep moving :/

Yeah, same! I started with the stickers facing out, eventually landed with stickers in like yours. I tried every combo. I installed the darn things four times like a fool before giving up and shaving the brackets

Lol, I can imagine, I did the same thing a few times before they fit. I’m guessing the rig they used to weld the bolt mounts could have been slightly off or maybe something else in play. Sorry I can’t recommend anything else to help. Hopefully you’ve got it in a good spot now though with clearing a little material out of the way.
The only other though I could even have is the axle being rotated slightly, but seeing in that pic it’s snug to the leaf pack and no shim, I’m pretty sure that’s impossible.

Don’t forget to post a pic of the entire truck too!

I will when I can! I built this truck on All Girls Garage this week, and the episode doesn't air until 8/27 so pics of the "end result" are embargoed until then!!!! SOOOO hard not to show it off

You're not alone! Mine is also a long bed access cab and I had this same issue, but only on my driver's side. Tried the shocks in different orientations, swapped sides, everything I could think of before grinding it down.

The shop had my lift done at(they’re one of the best off road shops in Portland and work closely with Ironman as they’re 20 minutes from the headquarters) pretty strongly recommended the SPCs over the IM. They said the IM UCAs are good, but the SPCs are just better.

SPCs are just more adjustable. If you go to a decent alignment shop they can easily get your alignment done properly with the IM UCAs.. I'm on 35s and don't rub with them. That being said, if I was doing it all over again I would go with SPCs for the extra adjustability.

Anyone put these on a pro and think they improved the ride coming from the fox suspension?

Glad to hear this. I bought some IM UCA’s a while back, but haven’t installed them. Just bought some -38mm F5’s, and plan on going 34’s and was starting to wonder if I’d made a mistake.

I can’t think of anyone that has but I remember reading a few people thinking about it. I’ve driven in a TRD Pro but not long enough in it to give a good comparison. The driver of the pro said the IM was definitely stiffer (E rated tires don’t help this) but also said it felt more planted and noticed right away it didn’t nose dove when pressing the break.

Much better than the pro suspension in my opinion. Granted mine had about 45k miles when I replaced them so they were due for a rebuild anyways. The IM FCPs are definitely a little stiffer but in a good way.

Appreciate the input! My truck definitely feels "floaty" if that's the opposite of stiff...my comparisons are to my late 2008 FJ cruiser and a few Off Roads I've rented because of, well, long story, but I'm kind of being forced into changing my suspension. I'm a big fan of what's on there now, so if I have to change it up, I want the setup to be at least as good.

Are you anywhere near their shop? Maybe they can set someone up with you to drive around lol.
Or someone else close to there might be able to go on a drive and see.

Yep that was my thoughts for the Pro Fox setup as well. The suspension was too "floaty" for me and would take a while for the truck to settle after going over a bump on the road. The IM FCPs are much better in my opinion and really help with that "floaty" feel. The truck is much more planted with the IM setup.

Glad I'm not crazy in thinking the same, though it seems these things are subjective to a degree. IM is appealing because many folks have endorsed their ability to hit washboards and moderately rough logging/service roads (my main off roading territory) at much higher speeds without throwing up.

I can confirm it does well over washboards. I've wheeled my truck pretty hard for the past year or so with the IM FCPs and have been very happy with them. Done everything from simple forest service roads to rock crawling.

This is a really good video for anyone that wants to learn more. Watching it made me think that maybe I should revalve mine but have no real reason to look into it besides being bored. I’d need to learn a lot more about what would work, if I needed to adjust the compression or rebound and also figuring out what shims to buy or if the king/fox shin stacks would work. IM USA does not have that info. But after a little reading, using smaller shims for the compression is probably what I would do…
