Can’t wait to get my kit. It’s a few weeks out. I have a BAMF plate bumper and 12k winch up front and have been running iShock UCAs and Midtravel Coilovers for 12 years (since my truck was new)
    IMG_3204.jpg
this was my truck when new. Had standard springs that came with midtavel kit (coilivers, diff drop, UCAs)
    IMG_3205.jpg
had to swap out to 700lb springs after the plate bumper prior to the winch install.
    IMG_3203.png
But once again after my winch was added to the front the nose got heavier and steering is heavier and I am getting more dive in the front. My Coilovers have about 90k on them and I wanted a stiffer ride to make up for the added weight of the winch and I have since added a Snugtop as well.
    IMG_3206.jpg
I purchased the Constant Load Heavy front springs and after seeing all of the super raked heavy rears I ordered the performance pack. I already have Firestone RideRites with factory Tow Package rear leafs and a 1” block on Daystar Cradles.

Whenever it comes in I am going to change parts in stages. I am going to change out the coilovers set to 2.5” lift in the front and change the rear shocks first using my stock leaf setup and existing lift/load add ons as they ride really well. Looking at how much rust problems I have seen I may send out the leafs and the UCAs to get powdercoated black and drive it like that to see how I like it and drive for a while and wait for the shocks and front springs to settle. I was going to do the Fox 2.5 Elites or Kings but they sounded too soft for all the weight, and didn’t want to have to have Accutune change valving prior to installation. I went with the Ironman even though there are no major reviews anywhere and all of the suspension places are pushing Fox/Billies/OME BP51/Kings. It seems like they are maintenance free and don’t require constant rebuilds. I pretty much only use my truck for camping/wheeling/towing so hoping this works out well, and that there are multiple options of how I can rework the rear leafs with my air ride if needed.

The taco is always putting in work!

Stoked to see how this works out.

Looking for some group think here. I installed the stage 2 kit over the weekend, was a bear but I got in there. Front is solid, no noise and everything is good. Different story in the rear. I hear a metal on metal sound. Doesn't sound like heavy parts hitting each other, more like something hitting a shield around a disc brake, or which there is no any on the rear. And I saw a few different ideas on the torque specs for the bolt nuts. I saw 55, 73, and 94, (ironman lists the torque spec at 92ftlbs) so I set them at 65. What is the best "right answer"?

    To answer the common questions

    1. Yes everything was torqued to spec, I double checked.
    2. I am crawling back under today with the torque wrench and checking everything again.
    3. No I'm not driving it, noise was discovered during test drive Sunday night.

    Thanks all!

I typically do all aftermarket U-bolts to 90LB maybe a hair more plus red loctite.

I would also just cut the emergency brake line bracket for 2" or greater of lift so that when it fully droops that you dont have any E-brake issues.

I'll crank them down to 90 and add the loctite! Thanks for that suggestion.

I have the bracket closest to the cab installed but not the one that would normally attach to the leaf spring, it just don't fit with the bends and I don't like the pressure it puts on the line so I'll cut them off the lines.

Can’t really think of anything you may have missed or would be causing that sound. Maybe one of the struts not being tightened enough on the top? But I do doubt that.

I have done a bunch of the foam cell installs on the Tacoma and 4runner. On one 4runner I did have issues with the rear shock - Top Mount in which the shaft of the shock was a little Cocked inside the metal spacer / Rubber Bushing and this caused the shaft to rub on the metal alignment spacer. I readjusted it and its been good ever since.

good call. I did struggle getting the passenger rear to sit properly and that is where I think the noise is coming from. I'll add loosen and reseat rear shocks to my list!

Do you see people remove the sway bar and keep it off with these kits? I’ve been considering removing mine.

I removed mine when I installed my IM kit 3 years ago and it's been off since.

Well it was the passenger rear shock. I had trouble getting enough threads to bite and it was a little crooked so it didn't really sit snug when driven. loosed it up, readjusted and tightened it back down. Drives quite now! Thanks for the ideas!

And @JFriday1 I took mine off because it was in my way and annoying me. And everything I read most folks with a fairly stiff new setup did not notice negligible difference. I can't say if I notice anything yet.

My front swaybar has been removed as well. It soften's up the ride in the front a little, but you cant barrel around corners as fast.

I’ll have to see if I think it’s worth it when I give it a try. I don’t usually whip around turns but I do drive highways with large curves often

How long did it take for everyone to get their kits? I’m passing a month and a half with no response on updated timing. May just replace my existing midtravel with Fox Elites as I can get them in a couple of days. Not a huge fan of paying for stuff and never even getting so much as an update on when I will ever see it.

My experience from 2020 won’t help lol.

Id suggest messaging them on FB, Instagram, calling and the chat support box during their normal hours.

    good luck!

have emailed them and spent more than 2 hours on the chat today. They just keep saying “any day” which sucks because I just want to know when they are coming so I can fit it into my very few days off

I work all of the hours they are open and my job doesn’t really allow for me being on my phone and I don’t have breaks. Text/chat/email is only way I can contact during business hours. Have to respond to multiple clients all day long. They are not open on the weekends

Anyone ever thrown in an add-a-leaf to the ironman pack? I think I'm a little too heavy fully loaded for the mediums (which I have now) but not heavy enough to need the heavy duty ones.

I added one to my old medium pack a few years back. Definitely helped with the added weight of my rear bumper.
