I reached out to Ironman Australia to get an idea of when it will be available, but no word back yet. It’s only available down under right now, and only for the prados from what I’ve seen. But looks like they are working on North American vehicles as the same strut but different part number is for f150’s on their website.

The ride today was pretty nice. A lot less stiff and jarring. Felt like the front rode on top of the shocks and not along with them, if that makes sense.

I have a couple long drives before I decide if I’m going to lower them a bit. Will have to adjust my headlights if not. I didn’t measure today but will when I get a chance and will take some more pics. Was at 24” from center of wheel to bottom of the fender when installed and after short drive.

A few pics- I also went with an energy suspension spring isolator. It does not have the cut outs for the bolt heads though but is supposed to be higher quality.

Sharing here too for anyone interested in either rebuilding or changing the fluid.

Been talking with @airforceb2cc and he suggested changing the fluid out for a softer ride.

The shock/struts have 15W oil. He used 5W and said it’s a great improvement. I think I might follow his example this spring or summer. Buy the rebuild kit and then oil and do a rebuild. If it’s good I can save up for something else instead of a new suspension.

Nothing I’ve seen yet but this is from the AU site-

    Monotube IM2.5
    Ultimate Ride Comfort
Experience unparalleled comfort and smoothness with the IM2.5 Monotube shock absorber. A truly refined and plush ride!

At the heart of this velocity-sensitive monotube damper is a large-diameter, ported, billet aluminium piston.

The design of the IM2.5 is the ideal platform for ‘comfort’ valve tuning and is suited extremely well for lighter vehicles where comfort is prioritised.

An optimised low-speed bleed path in the IM2.5 helps minimise harshness transmitted to the cabin ensuring you will experience a smoother, more controlled ride, balancing comfort with superior handling and stability.

While soaking up the bumps and offering a plush ride in daily situations, the velocity-dependant monotube design is also ready to respond to the unexpected and more harsh surface changes we all often encounter off-road.

The IM2.5 is the perfect suspension companion for 4x4 owners who really value all-day ride comfort and plush off-road performance.
to suit everything from an unladen vehicle to a ‘burger with the lot’ scenario in one coil.

would love for Ironman to give us some more information and videos on it. Super difficult to judge whether these will be better than foam cell pros for just dailying or if we should just stick with our FCP’s.

I didn’t like the green at first in my fcp, but I’ve grown to love it. If I swapped to these new shocks I would miss it haha. I want some comparisons! But I don’t think we will see anything for a long time

Right? Someone will have to be first lol but not me. The instagram posts says it’s supposed to be equivalent to the FCP just tuned for comfort and “lighter” vehicles, or not fully loaded.

I’ll keep looking for reviews and share if I find any. If the prices match what you could get just the FCP shocks and struts, they will be around 1800… 200 less than the full stage 1 kit. At that price I’d go with something else.

Struggling to make a decision here on what to get. Think I'm leaning towards medium leafs, but not sure if I should get the medium 827#(medium 2.5" lift) or medium 720#(medium 3" lift) coils. I have a snugtop canopy that's ~200# if I remember correctly. Then up front I have a SSO slimline bumper and winch. Bumper is 75#, they say 40# over stock. Winch is 65# I think. Also have a TRD aluminum skid plate. Plan on getting sliders and probably adding the tcase skid. Do quite a bit of forest roads with potholes and washboards and occasionally fairly rough washed out trails. Would really like to soften up the ride but worry I'll regret going to the 720#. Also don't care much for lift and would like to keep it at most 2" if possible to avoid any headaches. Any recommendations?

It’s tough to give a good recommendation, I think you might be best calling them and ask. Are you looking into the new IM2.5 shocks/struts?

the FCP paired with E rated tires is a stiff ride. Not terrible but definitely stiff. It has been a great suspension though and I’ve not had any real issues.

You can always get the heavier leaf springs and pull out an overload and 1 other leaf, though I can’t remember which one. Someone at IM can probably tell you. It might also be in this thread somewhere.

You live anywhere near MD? I think I have a set of the 820# 2.5” lift coils…. I also have the 720# coils sitting around but have to hang onto those if I need to swap back from the OME coils I have on there now.

The most I've gotten from contacting them is one will be firmer, the other will be softer. o_O I'm looking at the FCPs. They recommended them over the IM2.5 monotubes for a decent amount of forest road use. I'm on the other side of the country unfortunately. I really think Ill be good with the medium leafs. Even loaded up for camping I doubt Id be pushing 400#. I also have air bags if I ever get around to getting anything to tow. My main concern is being too soft for the weight I have up front, too much lift, or being too harsh. Most of the areas I go around here will be 40-1:30 on pavement and then 2-3hrs on forest roads. Smoothing out the ride would a big plus.

Oh, that’s not much help at all then. You probably have enough weight for the 820# 2.5” lift coils. You’ve got more weight than I do. You could probably get away with either way.

So all in all, I offered you no real help either

So is that 2 now for 820s will be firmer, 720s will be softer?

    Yep, that’s right! :fistbump:

I would probably still recommend softer. More so if you have E rated tires. I know the tires have a huge impact to road feel.

Last, maybe the higher and then if you don’t like them see if you can get a cheap pair of OME springs. They are more common than the IM springs and they fit.
