That was the longest part of the install. I had one hell of a time trying to get the CV axle out.

No, or at least not yet. I think 2-2.5 is my goal and I want to fit 285/70/17 Cooper STT pros on there. The 3rd gens are already about 1” higher than previous gens so going higher might screw with other things. And I don’t have aftermarket UCA to work if I went with 3”. Take my info with a grain of salt, reading comprehension is not always my strong suit and I might be misremembering things lol.

i tried for over an hour to get the cv out. I had rented a slide hammer but it didn’t come with any attachments, just a threaded end... I ordered a few things that should help on my next attempt and will give it another go.

I ended up taking the front skid off and getting a big pry bar set on one of the grooves and smacked it with a large hammer. Tried for over and hour before I took the skid off. Second swing with the skid off and it popped out. It leaked almost 2 quarts out when I did it. So would have eventually needed to take the skid off anyways.

thats quite a bit of oil, when I tried I had the left side a few inches higher then the right to try and not loose much, since I didn’t buy any to refill. I also took the skid plate off, got it the way as soon as I started lol. I had also tried without taking the hub nut off. I think it’ll work, I just need to be careful with it and not pull it out before the cv starts to come out... I did that when I tried last week and was a pain to get it to fit the three wheel things that are in the boot to fit get all the way seated again. If that makes sense.

    Okay. Progress.

Replaced the defective coilovers with the new ones. Looks like they built them to same specs as first ones ~2.5” lift. Old coilovers had rusted rub spots from the coils.
Easier job the second time around. I’ll keep an eye on these as they settle to make sure the coils don’t rub again.

Interestingly, my first coilover set was slightly off at the lower shock mount. I had to beast mode the first ones to fit the lower mount. Assembled a few degrees off. These new ones slipped in easily. Promising start.

Then I removed the 3rd from top leaf spring from my constant load leaf packs to soften the rear and remove the crazy jacked up rear. Removed them while all was still on truck. Not easy but also not as hard as pulling it all out and back in.
Got 17” Icon Rebounds with 255/80/17 Cooper ST Maxx tires. Was happy with the ride on the original FCP constant load set up. Hoping the rear will be smoother on washboard and hard hits offroad.

Good to hear. Did you end up ordering the others coil overs or are you going to be able to cancel that order? Gonna try to put mine in again today along with the ECGS.

Got the fronts on today, a little higher than I planned, I can’t math right, I’ll post some numbers after a bit of driving. There is a bit of squat but that’ll go away once I get the other leaf and it in. ECGS bushing also done today and now for a test drive.

Went for a little drive, speed bumps and bumps, sudden stops and fast accelerations. The front feels good but the rear end takes away from it. The truck does not lurch forward/dip when I’m stopping unless it’s a sudden and even then it’s not much. After all of that my numbers are drivers side 23 1/2 and passengers side 23 3/4. I think it’s settle a little more once I get rid of the squat that’s going on now. Calling Ironman first thing when they open to get the new leafs on their way.
ECGS install seems a success too, no weird sounds or grinding noises. No leaks noted yet either. Old needle bearing looked fine when I got it out.

Man all you guys with garages LOL I have a gravel driveway with carports haha but I have a bunch of rubber mats and what not. I'm building a small room on the side of my house for all mine and the wife workout equipment, weights, elliptical etc. and when I pour the slab in there I am gonna pour a small slab to do car work on. I live at a secluded dead end so sometimes I take it to the street but my neighbors always seem aggravated when they have to squeeze by me lol. Last year I Raptor Lined my RAV4 and enclosed one of the car ports in plastic and lights and commenced to spraying. I don't think they liked that either...

I used to live in an apartment and they made me stop doing work in the parking lot people around me used to tell on me all the time to the office people. They even threatened to pull our lease at our expense. I was so glad to move to a house!

I borrowed the removal tool from a local tw member and used a large socket to get it in all the way. I also got and replaced the seal as well, just in case.

If I didn’t have a garage I probably would have paid for someone to do it too.

Iron man recommends wanderlust but they don’t have any warranty on their labor... so I went with lolo. They are about the same price
