This thread may have swayed me from getting Bilstein/Dakars to these FCPs.

@Toywoodsguy82 @Superhulk LB and any other Portland tacos here - do you have experience between Wanderlust and Lolo for installs?

Planning around constant weight of my shell, (DIY) Prinsu top rack, sleeping platform, and recovery gear. Sliders and steel skids on the way too. Plus extra gas and camp/hunt/fish gear when loaded up for overnights. :turtleride:

^You guys think I’d be better off with constant load or performance? Trying to stay under 3”.

    Thanks in advance!

I had my install done in May at Lolo. They did good work and have installed Ironman on a number of Tacoma’s recently. My only complaint is they don’t communicate a lot. You have to ask something to get an answer. Not a bad thing, just be prepared.
With what you are putting on, I might go performance up front and constant in the rear. Lolo should be able to help narrow that down though.

I personally haven’t had anything installed by either of them but talked to both...

wanderlust is recommended by Ironman but I heard that’s because they have friends in each company. I have not heard anything bad at all about wanderlust. When I called about install and warranty they don’t have a warranty if the parts are brought to them even on the labor of the install

Lolo has done many many iron man installs. The ONLY reason I’m going with them is they warranty their labor for 7k miles.

the price of the install would have been about the same regardless of who I used.

As far as what you need for coils in Springs I would call Ironman directly and ask them questions they should be able to answer or either one of the overland places should be able to answer you as well

From my understanding wanderlust doesn't have a "warranty" but they stand behind their work and have a great reputation. They also do in house alignments and work with you on the gear. Not saying lolo doesn't but they don't communicate well from what I've read. If your a member of pdx overlanders I think they both offer a group discount btw.

Did you have to use a pickle fork or anything to separate stuff, I can’t think of the proper name haha or did you follow their video where they lessen stuff up and pop it with a dead blow hammer?

I’ll say this I got the constant front and rear and I’m gonna pull a leaf in the back to make them performance for now until I get all my equipment for the bed, but those leaf packs are freakin hefty :) I don’t doubt the constant set up is beast mode lol

Toyotas have spots you can hit to pop everything loose without damaging any of the tie rod ends or sway bar, balljoints unbolt. Shouldn't need a pickle fork unless its really seized up.

@Superhulk LB @Toywoodsguy82 @Hatfieco05 appreciate the inside info. Sounds like both will get the job done right. I’m a member of PDXO too and plan to use that perk. I visited wanderlust for gear once and liked how old school they were - blunt honest and no bs.

@Hatfieco05 keep is updated on how the wanderlust install goes

Nope and for mine all I did was the sway bar connection that “could” have needed to be hit. I didn’t even need a hammer for that. I removed and added the sway bar spacers. You’ll see in these pics the only things I took out, besides the strut. I also marked and losened the LCA bolts so it could drop down enough to get the strut out. Didn't you get the stage 2? If you did you’ll have more to do up front then I did.

Also, the IM struts with springs are much heavier than the oem stuff. I think he did a video showing the differences but actually handling them is crazy.

For all you Portland area guys I just got off the phone with Automotive outfitters and they are charging me less than $800 and less than one day to do the install and they have installed Iron Man kits before so this is nothing new to them just thought I’d throw that out
