should ask them how much to replace it lol. You know, might as well.
Having them that close when/if you decide to regear will be nice too.

Yeah I can handle the bearing myself, but they do lockers and all that and at some point probably next year I’m gonna do an ARB air locker so I’ll probably have them do that install. I could probably handle it but after watching the videos etc there’s a copper air pipe inside the housing and some other stuff that I’ll leave to the experts. Plus they warranty their work etc etc

See if they will loan you the removal tool. They are overpriced but actually work pretty damn good once you grind it down to fit.

If you are literally just swapping like for like, the install is super quick and easy. Maybe four hours. Absolutely no need to loosen or remove LCA.

It gets longer if you’re doing other stuff as well, such as extended rear brake lines. No need for longer fronts.

The strut install was really easy, a lot easier than I expected. I spent more time doing the ECGS bushing then I did both struts and the sway bar spacers.
Ironman got my leaf out today but the tracking does not have an estimated delivery date yet. Maybe by next weekend and I can get the rest done. I’m not gonna drive my truck much, no more than I have to with it squatting and before I get an alignment.

edit- leaf should be here next Wednesday.

Oh I have to do wheel bearings too etc. Whole front is being redone. I had a frame replacement recently and I am replacing the rest of what they didn't at the dealership.

Leaf should not be here Tuesday, along with new (to me) tail lights. Getting a set of the black bezel and no chrome ones from a 2019. Next weekend I should get those on and maybe an alignment. Gotta figure how that’ll work with someone else having to drive my truck...

Cool deal, well I started my junk this afternoon, only had to grind one bolt of and it was a retaking clip bolt that I now realize I didn’t need to touch haha no biggie the ones I was worried about the shock perch and UCA I already popped them all. My caliper bolts where on there tight and I was stressed about the bearing hub assembly bolts but so far so good I hit them all with MAP gas a spray and hot damn that heat is like magic just frees them right up. Seems like the bearing hub will actually be the hardest part of all this the shocks and leafs will be easy once I get the hubs done lol. Glad I started this afternoon. I am definitely putting anti seize on all these bolts after.

On top of that I had to do my whole transmission line cooler earlier in the week because the hoses went bad and started leaking. Once I finish all the front end work really only thing left that is super rusted and needs replacing sooner than later is the power steering pump and lines and idler pulley. Rust city on those. So glad for that frame replacement this year or I would have had to drive this thing until it blew away into dust. It is being reborn :benchpress:

Y’all got any advice, the sway bar part is screwed. The part where the Allen key goes in is dust I reckon I should cut it out? Who needs a sway bar anyways. I also made another mistake but I’m not telling y’all lol

Lol, nothing I can offer unless you can retread the hole or get a helicoil set. I don’t think there is any way to get a nut inside that part of the frame.

so, what was the other mistake lol.

It’s the ball joint for the sway bar you know what I mean? You have to stick a stupid 6mm Allen key in it and it’s so rusted it’s round only thing I can think is grab the joint side with vise grips but it’ll tear the boot. I’m gonna cut it I was gonna delete the sway bar anyways so maybe this is my higher power doing it. The other thing is I cross threaded the axel but threads and I knew better but was moving along so looks like a new CV and at this point the clamshell lol

Oh damn.... sorry to hear that. I’ve heard good things about the NAPA cvs.
I’ve got no suggestions about that sway bar stud since vice grips would probably hurt more than help...
Sometimes I hate working on things cuz I know I’m gonna screw something up lol. I had almost cross threaded one of the top plate studs but realized what was going on before it got bad.
Hope the rest goes well. How did the bushing itself go?

Everything else is going good kind of hard work lol but I didn’t have to cut anything since I. Doing this bearing I have the LCA stuff off so it just swung out
