Yeah I would think you should be in real good shape.
I bought wheels for my 2007 Tacoma 2 months before I decided to upgrade to a 3rd gen and just matched the size that was on My 07 before(newer tires). I wish I had known about 255/80s before that. It’s a good size tire. I have a 9”wheel so I’m stuck with wider tires or buying new wheels again.

Yea, no point in new wheels, unless you really needed or traded for them. I’m glad I saw @Fletcher37 post and looked into those. I was set on the 285 but looking into the 255 they will work great.

Got my lift on this weekend and it rides great. Problem now is I have the noise of the needle bearings goin out. Switched it over to 4hi and the noise goes away so pretty sure that's what it is, it's not loud but can kinda feel it. My question is will it be alright to drive for a couple weeks till I can fix it

I tried searching and could not find a good answer. My guess would be yes, within reason. But you might want to ask in one of the ECGS bushing threads that are around or one of the tool loaning threads. Someone there might have a better answer with experience behind it.

It’s a good size tire until you realize that most of your options are only mud terrain tires :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Really? I guess the two tires I like both offered AT option. The BFG KO2 and the Toyo ATiii. but I’m still not paying for new wheels. Just going with a 275/70 or 265/70 tire when I replace.

Do you want the sheet I got from Ironman? It came with my UCAs so might not be applicable

Thanks, I’m not sure since the IM will have the 4° of caster so that might confuse them.

    Leaf spring comparison:
1st pic: stock suspension and wheels
2nd pic: IM FCP with Constant Load front and rear plus stock wheels
3rd pic: IM FCP Constant Load front and rear with 3rd leaf removed on each side. Plus 17” wheels and 33” tires.

Less rake and rear wheel gap. I think it drives & looks a bit more balanced than pic#2 set up.

I took the extra leaf out of mine based on your experience and mine sits up a little not so bad like the 2nd pic. How ling did it take to settle? Should I go load some mulch in the back haha

I forgot to measure before and after. Didn’t immediately notice a big cosmetic change after taking the 3rd leaf out. Maybe softened the rear a little more.

It wasn’t until I loaded up for a camping trip that the visual difference was obvious. Rides a bit better loaded up. Haven’t hit bumpstops yet.

If I hit a bit big bump or roll over a big pothole, it feels like the rear suspension rebounds a little to harshly and I get a big thunk. But I‘m typically going too fast when it happens.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Once again I know it's a frontier instead of a Tacoma but the foam cell pro suspension has been working good still. Towed a pop-up with bed loaded and now bed and trailer filled with wood.

Still good to hear. I’ve been much happier with it over the OEM suspension and don't regret the purchase. Just need it aligned, wheels and tires. While I did have my sights on the STT Pro, they don’t come in 255/80/70. The ST Max will do... or I have that backwards... either way, gonna go with 255s to avoid chopping. At least for now :sawzall:

Random question but does anyone know if stock skids from a 3rd gen will bolt up to a 2nd?

Haha no worries I’ve asked other places and no response lol I didn’t think so but thought I’d ask I have someone that put skids on their Tacoma and was getting rid of them and they’re the TRD ones so front and back.
