Yeah I did the constants. I couldn't take the new bolt off, so I stuck the old one on top and smashed it down to hold it. It'll be a fun one to take off..

Another thing I forgot to mention is that when I installed the leafs and shocks in the rear, the shock is fully extended which makes me nervous. Is this because there was no weight (was using a lift)? I'm thinking of getting shock extensions for now until I get my rear bumper to help weigh things down

That’s an interesting question. While I’m not sure, I would think that’s the case. It would be tough to tell without jacking the rear end up again.

That said and assuming there we’re no changes, here is what I got from IM a few months ago-
The specs of the rear 45744FE shocks are 610mm extended and 399mm compressed. The front struts 45710FE are 564mm extended and 432mm compressed.

Not sure how much that will help but maybe you can find an easy way to measure it.

Random question... Working on getting another front end measurement but having a hard time consistently finding the "middle" of the center cap. With new tires pushing just past the fenders, its not as easy as stock wheels and tires!
Im running FN wheels, (photo attached) could I just measure from either the top or bottom of the center cap and still get a decent bearing on how much I've dropped the front? I've read over and over that the center gives a consistent measure, and that makes sense, but I think I need to drop the front another full inch. Would it matter where I measure this full inch from? The top or bottom of the center caps are a way easier measurement than the "center"!

    Thanks!

I think as long as you can get consistent measurements it would be fine for what you’re trying to do. I think that measuring from center or the cap is the standard for us to brag and compare our lifts, taking out variables like tire size.

If you wanted you could always subtract the distance from the bottom of the center cap to the middle.

In my experience it seems to translate at a 2:1 ratio, if you lower the collars down 1/2-5/8” from their current position; it will yield 1” lowering of total front suspension. For your case I don’t see why it matter where you measure from, you could measure from center of fender well to the top of the tire (providing the same tire wear it should be within 1/32) which is accurate enough to achieve what your after.

Like stated by @Devir7 the center of hub measurement is really just to standardize the amount of lift without the variable of wheel size and tire size being accounted for.

The way I took my measurement is by using a plumb bob (string with a washer on the end, and got the bottom of the washer lined up eye level to center of hub, then measured that length.) Took two people and 10 minutes but I had the same issue with the sidewall protruding out and wanted as accurate a measurement as I could get.

One other thought is to measure the shock assembly itself. Like others have said, if you take it down half inch at the shock, you should lower the fender an 1”

Quite a few things at this point..
Question. I have the 2.5" FCP suspension, 265/75r16 (32s) tires. Just installed the IM4x4 UCAs today. When I go get my alignment done tomorrow, how much caster do you all recommend I have them aim for?

I sent an email to a Chris Miller at Ironman. I haven't heard back though. If I don't hear from him tomorrow, I'll be reaching out to their instagram again haha

@Astr0Aar0n See Post #1182 (Pg 60) of this topic. Mandog has the Ironman specs written out. I also lost the Ironman UCA sheet, but @mandog has it for you. Hopefully that helps! Good luck!

I think we could all make guesses at how the spec sheets look, but its really going to boil down to each specific vehicle and how it feels in certain driving scenarios.

I did a little more off-road driving on my way out to Arizona (about 25 miles of dirt road) and I really like how it feels on the trails. Could get it up closer to highway speeds out here and it felt great. Also, no issue with sway-bar delete, but was just coming into the turns gradually, not any high-speed moves.

Oh, I will say at the encouragement of @ShawZ .. I did go around and check all the bolts/nuts. Nothing loose, but I haven’t been able to get a good handle on the rear strut for its top nut, the one that compresses the rubber washer (?) from above. It’s on tight, but the rubber isn’t mooshed out to the size of the large metal washers its in between. the rod inside just keeps spinning, despite holding it with vice grips while tightening the nut. I suppose its fine, though.
