    I would think that you can mix and match front/rear shocks as long as they perform well independently. People mix 6112 with 8100 rears with great results, despite those being differently valved. I dont know much about shock valving but my impression from experts around TW is that it’s a lot more than just classifying a shock as “digressive”. I think modern shocks often even have different behaviors for compression and expansion. That’s why getting an actual review from someone like Wheel Every Weekend/Overland Outfitters on real terrain is so informative.

    At 300 each for the im2.5 rears I think it’s definitely a better deal than 5160s. With a deal on 6112s you could get front and rears for $1500. I also like that 6112s don’t lift so much, but that’s my preference. I don’t want more than 1.5” or so all around. I don’t know if you can lower the preload 3/4 inch to get 1.5 lift on the IM2.5 coilovers.
