Hah... you must be looking at my set up now. I am in Wichita and just installed it myself. I have a review on it in the reviews section. Don't have the link right now...

885x with 5100s and top plate spacer for full 3", RCD extended 5100s in rear, dakars, flip kit, LR UCAs, tint, shorty antenna, in channel rain guards,BHLM, blacked out emblem, OEM side steps, weathertechs, debadged, rear diff breather
On a sidenote......it seems this leaf pack would be great for someone looking to level out their truck after putting on a 2.5" inch lift up front. As a package I like how it keeps the factory looking rake.............but the leaf pack is a great choice for those of us with dead springs but dont want to lift the truck 2.75" like the dakars......which would also be ok to use with standard 5100s if I am correct.

Once again......love the rake and mild lift:) those are some beefy shocks in the rear:eek:

I had been thinking of getting this iron man lift like I have said before in this post. I have been thinking if this would be the best lift for my needs? I friend asked me these question, "First, since you don't off road your truck and mainly truck on pavement sometimes and you pull a camper and go on gravel or dirt roads a few times a year (maybe twice a yr), and the second quesiton was that since you only put around 9,000 miles on my truck in a year do you really need a 880.00 dollar lift?" He told me to get the spacer lift for the front with rear AAL through toytech? Any help would be nice, I am confused now.

Im no expert, im still trying to figure out my lift. Most people on this site will say dont get a spacer lift. In youre case it may be the more sensible option, although the way i see it is, if you are going to drop money to lift/change the suspension then you might as well improve the performance of the suspension which a spacer lift wont do, it will actually limit your uptravel. I want the performance for offroading tho so i guess it all depends on what you need it for

I hate to say this since I do like this lift, but if this isn't what you need then don't go with it. No, don't go with spacers. It will make your truck ride like crap no matter what you use. An AAL will not help you with the constant load of a trailer. I would go with an expo leaf pack that doesn't give you any lift unless you want lift. If you want some sort of lift, and don't want to break the bank go with 5100's and maybe just order Iron Man's 2" leaf pack for the rears. Or you can find Expo's leaf pack for the rear. It's up to you man. Research is the main thing and there are a million threads on it. If you want a 2 inch lift with everything you need (minus top plates for the front) go with the Iron Man. Yes, it has progressive springs which feel stiff at first but they ride great. I don't know what else to tell you bud. I love my lift.

Almost 4 more months. Has your opinion of the set up changed, or is still holding up well?

Don't know about the OP, but I love mine. Not a single problem with it, and the customer service if you did is amazing. Lifetime warranty on all the equipment.

Sorry been gone for a while but got a notification that there was some activity in here. I am still very happy with my lift as well. No sag and every time I drive my truck I am impressed with how well it rides. I have had many other lifted jeeps and will say don't try to be too cheap because you usually get what you pay for. I have had my truck for a year and have only put about 5k miles on it but most was after the lift while on vacation.

    Everyone still happy with this?
trdparts4u (toyota of dallas) seems to have a good price, free shipping, and also gave me a coupon code for 10%off when I asked if they gave tlca or tacomaworld members a discount.
Looks like about $800, shipped, which is a major break over OME: but, only if it actually works/holds up/flexes and comes "complete"

I remember when BDS first came out, and were relatively cheap for Land Cruiser compared to OME...but I had to take leaves out of every pack to get it to flex, and I was sorry to have saved the money; if you follow that.

I'm only looking to run 32's or 33's, and do mild trails/national forest roads etc.
Right now I don't have bumpers/winches, but, I probably will...but my FJ40 will remain the rock-master as far as geared 140-to-1 on 36's....

Mine flexes plenty. I had to find some 10ton jack stands to be able to keep the tires from touching the ground at full up. Yes, they flex plenty.

Only partial flex, wasn't at the top yet.

I asked about these over at ih8mud's tacoma-ish forum, and got the below reply back...Are folks generally having driveline vibration issues after installing these?

''I had toyed with the idea of lifting the 05 double cab I had when I was thinking of selling my FJ40. But there seemed to be an overwhelming number of people with mild lifts in the 2-3 inch range that had all kinds of vibration issues. Not what I wanted to deal with on my winter DD. I think it was the bearings in the ends of the front diff that were the issue. They didn't like the extra stress from the driveline angles.''

EVERYONE has driveline vibrations after lifting. It's a KNOWN effect on lifting since it causes angles to be off towards the rear. It comes with a carrier bearing drop kit to help it out. I haven't noticed nearly the vibes other people say they get though.

Carrier bearing drop would be only on the rear driveshaft, yes?

    Lift kit arrived today;
I've seen no one mention needing longer soft brake lines...is that accurate?

    thx

I can do that, though it'll likely be a while...
Eventually, I'll probably put Treadwright 285's on it, but I'm gonna have to wear out the 265's first.

Are you putting the springs together yourself or taking to a shop? If you are taking to a shop, you don't remove the middle nut!
