Haslfre, are you sure? I read on an FJ forum that they were no longer going to sell in North America. I hope your right, that's a good price.

Go check the thread I made. They have posted about it a few times. They have a store opening in Portland this spring

I'm assuming it will depend on who your order it from. Mine did not come assembled.

Ironman did clear this up a while ago but man they aren't doing themselves any favors by not being persistent in spreading the correct information.

Coils don't come assembled from Ironman, though you may be able to get a vendor to build them for you, at additional charge.
I paid $1150 for B coils, and leaves, foam shocks, bushings, ubolts and trim packers.
Shipping was free from trdparts4u, which would have been an additional $150-ish.

Camel4x4 was the former USA dist; their webpage was still up last time I looked, which promotes misinformation.

Ironman4x4America is the new distributor, owned in part by some of the guys from Metaltech. I can already hear folks saying "well, that's almost the cost of the OME kit."
    It is, I guess.
However, the OME kit is more lift, which I didn't want.
I'm not building a Manic Trail Rig, I'm building a very nice daily driver with enhanced off road ability.
I don't want to mess with upper control arms, and really big tires.
The ~2" lift and 265/75/16 is right where I want to be.

I had this on my last truck, and it's a quality kit, well engineered, and works great on and off road.

Thanks guys for clearing up the misinformation concerning ironman distribution.

Alan- I'm on the same page as you as far as what I'm looking for. I thought you were previously quoted $790? Did they raise the price or is more included for the 1150?

Alan nevermind, sorry, I read the rest of the other thread and it answered my question.

I also found the headstrong site, good to know their price is not accurate.

I emailed Mark about some of the web confusion, Camel's old site being up and in the top search results and asked for current websties; here's what Mark sent:

    Alan,

    Our site:
    http://www.ironman4x4america.com/

Its still getting updates and finishes. But you can search by your truck for what we stock in the US and find a dealer. We will have the complete kits up on there as well shortly. This site represents what we are stocking currently in the US.

For the full Ironman 4x4 inventory the Australian site has everything and we can bring it all in on request. http://www.ironman4x4.com/

    Thank you,

    Mark Hawley

The old $800-ish price was The Ragingest Bargain There Ever Was.
The new price more accurately reflects the quality of the product, and the cost of getting it here from Australia, into stores, and to your door. IMO.
It's still a coupla hundred less than the OME stuff I looked at (when you include shipping) and is, IMO, same quality.

Also, while neither trdparts nor metaltech have the kits listed on their websites yet, the produc is in fact here and ready to ship.

With the OME kit you can get to 2" as well, the right front coil selection and ditching the 3rd leaf from the packs in the rear will get you there.

Not sure how they can sell the Iron man kit for the same price as the OME kit ($1150), sounds like they are trying to profit more $$$ vs. competing against a giant whose reputation sits near the top.

As I see it if they want to sell these kits for the same price they better make sure the quality of product is right there with OME. From what I hear this is not the case.

Yeah. It is worth it at sub $800. But nothing more until quality is improved

You two have had both on your trucks?
Because your comments on quality sort of imply direct experience

You may be able to get the OME to 2" by "using the right springs and removing a leaf from the rear," but I'd bet you would want to run a winch, front and rear bumpers, and a camper shell with that setup.

Ironman has been in Australia for a good many decades and is a well reviews product. Their unfamiliarity in the US doesn't mean their product lacks.

Well there’s no need to discuss my background, experience, or personal understanding of the products (but yeah very familiar with Ironman, Dobinson, Tough Dog, EFS and of course OME), it’s just impractical to think that the Iron Man kit could/should be sold at the same pricing. Pulling quality aside and assuming both are equal; reputation is a big factor as well. That said it’s not my product to market and I have no affiliation with either companies, just know folks who do and provided my feedback with no intention to cause issues.

But yeah Iron Man has been on the seen for a bit now and it’s good to see them trying to make a presence here in the US, the more options the better. All I was saying is they better ensure the quality of their product is on par with OME or as I see it they’ll end up looking like asses trying to match OME pricing.

Sounds like you have some affiliation with Iron Man the way you promote them. If this is the case I wish you luck ;)

Quality seems on par with my buddies OME lift. He even commented on how my ride was smoother. Different strokes for different folks. It has handled trails for me just fine and I have been happy thus far with my purchase. I would buy it again at the higher price.

Raising the price doesn't mean the quality has to be equal. Its a different kit, plain and simple.

What are the spring rate of the coils? Looks like the B coils are the standard option? Assuming they are linear. How's the shock valving compared to the ome sports, i.e. softer/firmer on road manners

    Thanks
