Interesting they say "premature wear" of the balljoint. Doesnt take a genius to see that aint wear and sure isnt the ball joint.

I just got off the phone with them. I used to sell a lot of iron man. They say it does not impact the US market but they will continue to evaluate the situation. I think that means that people in the US do not wheel as hard. Lol.

Fracture direction suggests the ball joint got into a bind, due to abnormal wear and/or bad design.

The uca's have been scrubbed from their website so i think it'll most likely the usa market will also fall under that recall.

Thats a good catch. I still have a hard time saying thats wear. It really is improper design, either they did not monitor their ball joint supplier or someone goofed up the design.

Wow, I can't believe this is happening. I've ran mine for about 17k issues and no real wear on them but I don't wheel often. As of now, they are only saying it's the Australian arms are the only ones affected. I will say this, at least they stand by there product and recalling it. Curious to see if the US ones are affected and how they will handle this.

Yeah the trails down there look way more aggressive than the trails in the US for sure

Well this sucks. Just installed mine last November. Watching this thread for any further developments. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I installed them in December. I kind of want to ride it out as Mine have been great the last 17k miles and they are saying it's only the Australian arms. I spoke with a guy and supposedly the arms are made differently from the US arms. Not sure how true it is, but just going off of what I was told. Maybe ours are fine?

Let's hope so. Keep in contact here if you hear of any updates. Planning to take a look at mine tonight, but they have been strong so far for me. No issues and I've done a bit of heavy wheeling and some higher speed trail punishment. Overall I've been quite happy with the whole FCP setup.

Ouch. This stinks but my experience with them has been exceptional. I was part of a batch of bad leaf springs that went out a couple years ago with bolts installed backwards. Marred a nasty gash in my fuel tank. Ironman covered entire replacement cost of fuel tank at the dealership. They've earned my respect; I hope they handle this with the same professionalism. Obviously kind of stinks that parts replacement is one thing but cost of install is another...

I think it's safe to say as of now we might be in the clear hopefully. I've had great luck with the Control arms. I hit a deer on the driver side and it walked over it doing 65mph. It didn't break then surprisingly so I think we might be okay. But I'm hoping for the best and will keep updating the thread.

These were going to be my UCA of choice! Especially because they use stock bushings and ball joints...

Is there an alternative that uses stock bushings and ball joints?

    Yikes, Thats a mess.

Do you have any information how this happened? Long struts and ball joint binding?

Also, that looks like a MOOG ball joint, not the Ironman one... Its a bit hard to tell. Could you confirm?
