I left mine blank also. But I did find the part numbers of the UCA's themselves. It's stamped in big letters on the bottom of the UCA.

To my understanding UCA001FA is the 4Runner UCA, while UCA001FAT is the Tacoma UCA

They're likely identical parts, but a SKU search will turn up results for 06+ Tacomas using the FAT suffix

Just received my letter from IM4x4. If I am reading this right, they are shipping out new UCA in October? I filled out the recall form.

The funny part is I emailed them about a year ago telling them I was getting crud stuck in my ball joint and hearing a bit of noise and asked if they would make a dust cap to keep those deep cups free from junk.
They did offer to replace my ball joints at that time for no charge.

I didn't think it was a big issue and picked up some rubber covers to try and mitigate the debris getting stuck in there.

I have about 25k miles on these after 18 months and no issues to date, but I am glad they are working on replacements and it seems like they are standing behind their product.

I didn't receive the letter from Ironman, but
my replacement UCA came in today.
It has MOOG ball joints on the new ones.

Since only the UCA came without any letter of explanation, I need to find out about labor comp and all that. Anyone else got their letter + replacement?

Do you notice any difference between the uca besides the greasable ball joint. I'm wondering if it would be easier to swap out the ball joint than the entire uca. If it was that simple, it seems Ironman would just send out ball joints though

At initial look, I do not see any other difference other than the MOOG ball joint. Everything else seems exactly the same.
My guess is if there is a premature wear on the UCA due to this ball joint issue, the arm itself has a wear that is abnormal, so it should be included in the replacement work.
That is just my guess. And I'm happy that IM is replacing the entire UCA.

My guess, for the purpose of liability, the entire assembly needs to to be replaced. I don't have my old box, but I noticed on picture of the replacement UCA box there's a suffix -4. Not sure if that's meant to distinguish between UCAs w/ replacement BJ or not, just a guess.

Unless the replacements are stamped in someway, people should probably be wary when these predicably enter the used market. Additionally, resale value probably diminished even if the updated version with MOOG BJ.

Anyone else receive replacement UCAs yet? I suppose I'm impatient because my original order was completely botched and any customer service contact I've had with IM has been contrary to popular opinion, awful and a total time suck. All of that, plus this formal recall, has me hold the brand generally, in low regard.

I received mine last week. I'm still debating on installing them or not.

Yes, I'm not sure I will either. The picture of the fractured UCA on the 1st page with a MOOG BJ installed doesn't really provide much in the way of comfort that these are good to go. Now, I don't know the exact story behind that picture, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

IM Customer Service is fantastic. They are doing a great job answering emails and questions. My UCA's are on the way, I'll keep you posted. My BJ rubber is tearing. It'll be nice to refresh the system.

I got my replacements the other day. I'll have to sort out a time to get them installed.

Is there a part number on the ball joint?

I haven't even opened up the box yet but I'll try to this Friday. I have had this suspension on the truck since DEC2011 with zero issues. I'm wondering if now is a good time to replace the front suspension....

Do you have additional info on that dust cap? I’d like to get some of those for the new UCAs when they come in.

Looking good. I would also love to put a dust cap on these since they are serviceable.
