    Hi,

I was considering ironman leafsprings for my second gen, and noticed a sale for a complete nitro gas suspension, stage 1 package online.

I did a search and most seem happy with Ironman but some comments point to rust issues on coils and leafpsrings, and leaking struts. Is this still an issue with Ironman? Particularly rust because road maintenance in the winters where I live, involves a lot of salt.

I don’t do serious wheeling and typically have a load of 200 pounds with a canopy and add sandbags in the winter.

    Thanks

To some extent they all have these issues. OME is really bad in my region.

My buddy at work actually clear coated his 6112's to help prevent rust build up.

I'd say get the set you want and oil them if its a bad rust area.

Every brand will require regular maint. If around salt. As mentioned OME has been known to have rust issues but i have zero rust on mine but then again i live in the SouthEast. Having said that i still use Fluid Film twice a year.

They make it, you maintain it. Nothing is made to survive every possible scenario. If it was nobody could afford it.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know and I will oil the springs and coils if I get a set.
