When my last free oil change is done I will switch over to Mobil1 5w-30 or Castrol 5w-30. Oil change intervals will be 5,000 miles. However If I stayed with dino oils I think I could get almost the same results. I'm 66 now and hoping this is the last vehicle I have to purchase. Obviously that's why I bought a Tacoma. oh and because at 66 I still want to look cool, but don't tell anyone:cool:

Just changed my oil to Mobil 1 0w30 synthetic from 5w30 synthetic as
i heard it can help with valve tick. Drove it around for an hour or so and it definitely made my valvetrain tick noticeably quieter.

Unsure how that can happen since you kept the "30" portion in the oil...this is the viscosity of your oil at operating temperature...the 0w and 5w are viscosity at start up (cold)...

The full explanation of that is better said at "bob is the oil guy" .com but still....

    did you change brands?

Yeah, I know what the numbers mean, I heard someone say they tried it and it seemed to make a difference, so I thought I'd try it. I was running the Toyota oil before.
