150000 miles is just getting broken in! Come back at 350,000 and you can complain just a bit

Where does this guy live? 150000 miles in the Rust Belt region it may have frame problems. You better look underneath.
    I paid $24000 for my 2017. Miles 0

I have REAL world experience with a high mileage 2nd Gen.

2007 bought new, had 351K miles on it in 2017 when I posted it here and locally starting at $8,500 but ended up taking a bit over $5,000 for it. Good condition, frame good, some surface rust. All maintenance done over the past 10 years. Body in great condition.

You'll never find any one paying $15,000 on a 7 year old Tacoma with those miles. But good luck if you try.

My 2012 now has 187,000 miles on it. :burnrubber: I bought it used in 2014 and it only had 32,000 miles. :anonymous:

    Well said.

I get Tacoma's hold their value but dealers and used car dealers will take advantage of this.

OP. Toyota dealer or other? Don't go into sticker shock. How long has it been on the lot? Don't know? Who cares. Go in and make them work for you. They're hungry and want to make a sale, string them along if you have to. Make them work for it (YOU). Absolutely don't pay what they ask.

If it doesn't work out or you don't get the deal you want. Let a sucker pay for it on the lot/via auction. It's your money don't waste it.

Something that doesn’t get talked about much but credit unions to earn your business will do nationwide searches to find specific vehicles to meet your needs. Tell them you want a 2013 Tacoma they search and play dealers against each other. They do the work for you. Obviously it’s easier to do this with new but stuff but also works for used. Longo Toyota in California was and probably still is #1 volume dealer in USA. They will beat any dealers price on new stuff. Consumer report does this search too for a small fee.

    I just went on KBB.COM
put in my taco's details & according to a valid third party site ----->
    https://www.kbb.com/toyota/tacoma-d...7261346|true|7261352|true|7354142|true#survey

so I think Im on point

did you stop to consider that in your example you got a killer give away price,
meaning someone hooked you up with a taco at a below market price?
also there is a huge difference beteween a 2013 and 2007 when discussing gen2 tacos
(beginning & end of the gen2 build cycle)
the latter is more dependable, reliable, & in demand

& I have no 'REAL' world gen2 taco experience according to you
okay, I just drove 350k miles in the last 7 years in my taco, how about you?

I should just sell my taco at $15k to prove them all wrong

Go for it. Good luck finding a real buyer. Yeah, you might get bites but I’m talking a BOS.

All I know is what I know from advertising and selling my ‘07.

I get buying used to save money, but to me the math just doesn't work. Sounds like you might be getting at best a 30% discount on the truck compared to buying new, so unless you plan on putting 450,000 miles on it, it seems like you would be better off buying new.
