    Folks,
You would'nt believe what they're asking for an 06 DC 4x4 TRD here in Toronto Canada with 80,000 kilometers .. $21,900- haven't seen the truck but from the photos looks really nice in Silver color with 17"wheels and new tires.. a used car dealer, i'm at a loss what to offer this people?
$17,900 i would grab that as along as it checks out good overall...
good luck, i'm still thinking about buying one.... i can't get sucked in on this high resale value thing! it's still a 6 or 7 year old truck .... it has to depreciate !

If it really blue books for $22k trade in, what they are asking is a deal. $15k, I would do it

    They cost more in Canada.

16k out the door would be fair.

So that truck that I found for 17,900 is water under the bridge. Good news is I found the same truck in much better condition. Also , this truck is cheaper. They're asking 16.8k. Offered him 15k and they didn't want to take it. I'm a little upset to say the least. I'm gonna have to go back this weekend with the money in hand.

Hmmm. I sold my 06 AC with 59k miles for $18.5. Still had warranty. That truck doesn't. They're asking a little too much for it. 15 ish would be more acceptable

I paid 16500 for my Tacoma with 80,000 miles on it about a year ago. Got the 100,000mi warantee as well. Mine was literally brand new looking on the inside. No rust on the body. Serfious rust on frame. Personally I'd pay 17,000 max on it if it met my standards.

I just sold my '06 TRD Sport 4x4 DC with 81k miles for $23,500. I had some money into it but I was surprised myself I was able to get that much. You can check my build for specs and mods.

I'm in New Jersey. Where did you live? Prices differ. Depending where you live? Was that 16.5 out the door?

Dealers tend to go above KBB pricing though. They know their customers would talk the price down so they list a higher price than KBB retail. Sometimes they even come near the certified price of a non-certified auto!

KBB may show you market price of certified/non-certified dealer retail, trade-in, private party sale, but it is not a realistic source for automobile values. In fact, KBB is too optimistic for the typical consumer attempting to sell an auto. I read that dealers look at black book value (what they can get from auction) rather than KBB when buying an auto. But then they turn around and sell for above KBB. They are for-profit organizations so they wish to maximize revenue.

Still talk them down on the price.

That's how I feel. I can't let's this one go. I'm definitely going to try and talk them down. I'm going back Saturday with money in hand. I'm working with a guy today that's a friend of the sales manager. Hopefully that will help me out.
