Is $26k too much for a 2017 with 120k?

Spot on. Pretty sad but that's the way it works. I've seen more than once that after the sucka is paying used car interest rates and extended loan duration, they could have left the lot with the "more expensive" new vehicle.

KBB has my 2017 with 25k ish miles as $35k-$38k, which is still more than I paid new. Throw it in your statistical scatter plot and take it for whatever it's worth.

The truck is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I took myself out of the car market 3 years ago when I saw this coming. We bought a new 21 Mazda CX5 that has since just rolled 1000 miles. My other 2 vehicles are low mileage and will last longer than I do. This new normal is bull shit and people just pay it. If people stop paying it the prices will come down. We create this market. We can change it.

I thought about getting rid of my 2016 4x4 sr5 with 85k but trade was 18500. Nothing wrong with the old girl. So 25 seems too high

New ones I've seen are all at least 45k before addendums are added. I suppose that helps keep prices high on the older models.

Don’t look at ‘80’s clean Toyota 4x4 prices.

…sorta like, throw it into the wind and let the dust settle it!

My 2017 with 75k miles is worth about $3000 less than I paid for it new also.

    Dealer? Private party?

'Asking' prices are always optimistic - for all kinds of sellers.

If you want that truck, Ask to have it inspected (I would for a used car...), gather your info, figure out what you want to pay for it, and negotiate.

A good argument and a pit of patience will save you some $.

Truck prices are crazy, my '16 Limited 4x4 is in mint condition, always garage kept, driven very little, 7900 miles is correct. I've been offered over 36k from several people and more than that to trade with my local dealer. I only paid slightly more new, but if I sold I'd have to pay a premium price to get the same truck, so why? I love my truck and plan on keeping her for a long time unless someone comes with an ever crazier offer. So 26k doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Your decision only, you have to decide if you can live with that amount. And, the truck has already depreciated so unless used prices suddenly plument, the truck should hold its value.

Idk either why these trucks are so special that they hold a high resale price. I got the local mail man that stops every time he's see's me outside in the yard working, asking if I'd sell him my truck. I've told him at least a dozen times, no....says you can't find one thats similar at any dealer.

dealer offered me 26K for my 2016, 29K miles, 2WD 3.5 TRD OFF Road. the 2023 i was looking at, same equipment as my 2016 was 37K'ish. I paid 34K'ish for my 2016.

I came up with that bogus $10. difference after reading post #42.
