I put my 2007 Corolla through some hell when I first moved to AZ ... trying off-roading. Never too stupid (well, considering me ...) but still the Corolla did not break on the section I was careful over.

I already set limits for my "daily driver" Tacoma, so maybe became a tiny bit smarter.

Try the Blackhawk 2.1 tune for a significantly noticeable difference off the line.

I own both a '12 and '17. I love them both for different reasons but the '12 will need to be replaced soon. I was planning on getting a '25 Tacoma to pair with the '17 but I've since changed my mind. So the journey begins to look for a '23 Tacoma 4x4 DBSB Lunar Rock TRD w/Premium updated sunroof. If my '17 has served me well, that means the '23 will be the refined model of the 3rd gen I want.

I have nothing against the 4th gen, it just doesn't do it for me and with such a price hike, no thanks. I can use the money saved for mods and maintenance.

You did well with the '23.

Do you plan to go unicorn hunting this weekend also? You know the odds of finding one, even used. But good luck anyway.

Good thing I didn't want a 6MT as well. That's what makes it fun and I figure this, I can start in a few months till whenever. The beauty about planning ahead and not in a time crunch. Don't tell the seller this, but I'll pay more just for both the color and sunroof :anonymous:

I live in Socal, it's not as hard as you think.

Here's one that's close to me now. Low miles and just a tad more than I want to pay right now. In a few months and the '12 ready to go. . . I'll pull the trigger. Simple mods like bronze heritage trail wheels, TRD Pro suspension and the bronze heritage trail grille, I'm set. I'm going to keep it stock and TRD built up. I want this to be the truck that rides me into retirement and since it will not be a daily, it should.

    Congrats man! First house?

Yeahh my truck is on 33x10s, mild lift, aluminum stump bumper, winch, sliders and TRD skid so only about 350# constant weight currently. 550# with RTT and bed rack. Still able to get advertised MPGs with both set ups but I do drive for best gas mileage like 95% of the time.

Would so amazing to have a bone stock 2023 TRD pro MT in my driveway…

Haha no it’s not. I used to live in a condo and if I stayed there I could’ve bought a 2023 TRD pro and paid for extra parking.

But there was no way I was staying in a condo and metropolitan city, I’ve had enough.

Moving up here feels like I’m back in the 90s, just how I like it.

    Thanks man!

Even if it costs a bit more then renting (in my case its not), one is still better off owning. You are slowly paying yourself. It’s not as good as it used to be cuz of high interest rates but in my situation it still makes sense.

I build a rental suite downstairs and getting income from that so it really helps. One of advantages of owning a house.

Congrats to you as well! Second home I’ve bought. Sold my first. I rented for awhile and decided to buy again.

I get 13 to 16 MPG for the most part. I’d be happy with another bone stock TRD OR.

Owning a house in Canada is like winning the lottery these days. So many young will never ever catch that train due to completely f*cked government mismanagement or outright sabotage. I have a “new” Tacoma, new 4Runner incoming, and a new house myself on a lake with lots of leftover income. I feel like a Rockefeller or Bill Gates without the world super villain impulses. Just feel bad for the sheer amount of people who will never own a house, so count your blessings with your Tacoma and house :woot:

Even if they ain't now they will be in the near future. Trust me.

I almost went condo before buying my house. Better than renting but wasn't going to be a long term thing for me. Either way would be in the suburbs, I'm not much for city life.

How so re the 90s though?

Totally, 20 years here now. Opened at 6.5 pct and refinanced twice to lower it, right now I think it's 3.25?

Biggest thing is pay more than the minimum. One extra payment per year will knock 7 yrs off a 30. Even in the early years when we were spending a fortune fixing up the place we at least paid an extra 75-100 a month. Now we're basically paying 2x the principal each month. We cashed in equity in 2011..not by choice per se but it was for siding/trim/etc that it long since needed and we couldn't afford it any other way. At the moment we have 37 more payments at the rate we pay each month.

Can see that a lot here re people never having the option as well, though MA is a very costly state.

It's a little slow getting up to highway speeds, but I have no complaints after half a year of ownership. Get 21mpg with 265/60/17 tires, and really enjoy the adventures it's taken me on.

Yeah it’s reliable. 156822 miles in 18 months on the road two continents from Barrow AK to Ushuaia Argentina and all points in between. Not a hiccup burp sneeze or cough.

The term good is subjective. I go for reliability. Are there things I don’t like about my taco, sure. But those things are minor.

It's real close... I left a 600 sq. ft studio when they told me my rent was gonna go from 655 + power, to 1789+heat+power+water+"maintenance fees"

To go rent again was about 1200 a month, which our mortgage was about 13-something. Now, forget it..people pay more for a one bedroom in my area than that.
