    This man knows his stuff.

After going to 5.29's I can finally drive my truck like a normal vehicle again.

I would go so far as to say that even if it cost twice as much to do, I would still pay for it to get done. It is that good.

im trying to decide on 4.88 or 5.29's. from my math i think 4.88 with my 265's will get the job done and put me ahead of the stock 3.90 with 245's

With 32" tires and 5.29 gearing, you will be at really really really high rmp on the highway.

Up to you, but I always recommend to just skip right over 4.88's and go to 5.29's.

I'm at 5.29's and 32.8's and on the freeway I sit at 2100 rpm's. That isn't unreasonable at all.

Nope, Toyota did it kind a came with the truck so it was either that or an automatic. Since I have been drive manuals for 60 years I was an easy choice.

It cost 3k to have done. Definitely a lot of money, though if I were worried about money I wouldn't have bought a new truck

Dude..there’s online engine RPM calculators that you can use. Do a google search and figure it out.

If you disagree with the definition of “high” RPMs then fine but at least come to the table with a clue.

Well, yes, I've done a lot of hauling through TX in 80mph zones. It's an exponential increase past 65mph...

I was asking how many miles per hour at 2100 rpm.

Not sure why you are insulting me over that.

    I’m at
    2” lift 1” rear
    265/70/17
Not a ton of weight often
    Camper shell
    And eventually cbi front bumper

The math for me says go 4.88’s

the more you read people say just go 5.29’ still, more responsive etc etc and future proofing I suppose

struggle continues because I’m only gearing once unless there’s a failure down the road

    Hmmmmmmm

I think I need to just go 5.29 as well.

im a similar suspension set up and tire but minus the cap. i do alot of highway traveling so the lower RPM of the 4.88 will be useful. just bought my gears and will have them installed next week.

No insults were thrown. If you are going to argue, know what you are at least arguing about.

If you can’t use an online calculator to determine speed at a given rpm and gear ratio then you aren’t in a position to say rpm’s will be “really really really high”

It's not. What are you considering "exponential?" its more like insignificant. Please look up a calculator.

Can you update me on how they do for you here or via PM. I’ll be doing mine at ECGS since they are pretty close and really want what’s best overall
