Is 73000 too many miles for used Tacoma?

Hi. My girlfriend is looking at a 2012 doublecab base model. Certified pre owned. Carfax shows regular maintenance was performed. One owner. No collisions . It has 73000 miles on it. Strikes me as a highway vehicle. Looks very clean. Seems like a pretty good deal, especially since they are giving her a good trade in on her jeep. Just looking for opinions whether 73000 is pushing it when buying a used Tacoma. Thank you, Bob.

 

It is on the high side for being 2012. Annual average is 15K. The price should reflect that.

 

73,000 is definitely not too many miles. Just make sure the frame and other components are beat up too badly. I bought mine last month with around 78k and the paint is flawless (no touch up work done) and the rust is fairly light.

Wow. Fast replies. Thank you. Checked frame; less rust than my 2012 double cab. Bumpstops look like they have never stopped a bump. Brakes look ok. No wet spots on drivetrain. Skidplate is clean. Thanks again.

 

Asking price?

 

I bought mine with 130k, I have 165k now. No issues other than a fuel pump going out.

 

$24,000. Pretty much right at bluebook. I wouldn't consider it, but the trade in for her jeep is much higher than I expected. The jeep is a jalopy.

 

How negotiable is the dealer? Remember to always be ready to walk

At 73k most 'yotas are considered just broken-in, & a little "wet" looking driveline isn't a bad thing, tells me it's been lubed...

 

Not too many depending in price.check nada value. Unfortunately, Tacoma's tend to hold their value and used can be only a few thousand under new

 

Given she's trading a Jeep for it, I'd say anything under 200K would be acceptable for an even trade.

But, really. I wouldn't let that mileage deter me. In fact, if the price was accordingly adjusted, I wouldn't let any amount of mileage sway my opinions of these trucks.

 

Considering that I sold my old Tacoma running just fine with 290k miles, I would not hesitate due to those miles.
