Is a broken tailgate part covered under warranty?

Today my tailgate was opening and closing with some odd resistance. I noticed a plastic part on the passenger side hinge is cracked. I have around 33,000 miles on my 2022 Tacoma. Is this something that is covered under the 3 year 36000 mile warranty? If not is this a simple inexpensive operation if I fix it myself?

My understanding is that the 3 year/36000 mile bumper to bumper warranties covers EVERYTHING that fails due to workmanship(rat chews wires not covered, water damage by driving into a lake not covered). If a LED or incandescent bulb dies its covered, if a relay fails its covered, if the key fob button fails its covered.

 

Yes, it’s a warranty, covered part

 

Those bushings always fail. Buy 3 or 4 extras and swap them out when they break.

Yeah I just looked it up. It is like an $11 part. This is my fourth Tacoma. This is officially the only time something has broke.

 

Indeed. More if you are always driving in rough off-road conditions. Been through three since April.

 

I've been through like half a dozen of those since 2016/17

mine broke 2 weeks ago. Wasn't even worth my time to argue or open a W/o, $7 Cad next day to my dealer.

 

Yeah I ordered one off of eBay just now.
