this is true. you'll hear MORE about a lift going wrong or creating issues. if the lift goes right, may not hear much. people dont want top brag too much... but if there are issues people will ask a lot of questions.

if someone has a good time at a restaurant they may tell 1 or 2 friends, if they have a bad experience, they may tell 10. you always hear about the bad, not always the good...get it?

i put a 2" ome on by myself over the course of 2 days back in august, and have had no real issues to speak of, actually , no issues to speak of...yet.

but as others have said, stock will have less issues....but its still stock. toyota didnt factory lift it for a reason. its all about doing it right

I think the Eibachs are supposed to yield 1.6" with the Bilsteins set at 0.
It's a longer spring than stock, so it doesn't require preloading in order to provide some lift.

Don't expect to pay pocket change either for a decent lift...I'm into about $3000 for lift, wheels, tires and the lift isn't getting installed until Monday.....but I did research on here and w/ Toytec, Tire Rack "expert", and my tire guy....wanted to get mine right the first time....

In my opinion no, most folks don't pay attention to every squeak and pop in a truck after a lift so lifts are a must in there opinion, all it's gonna do is put strain on every part of ur truck, unless u got tons of money to upgrade gears, driveshaft, steering components, brakes, motor work, and every other suspension component not covered by the lift, they will make racket and stuff will burn out faster, guaranteed, the first couple months of the lift is heaven though

Yea there all f250s though, way more truck than a Tacoma but still squeaks and pops, not saying they all have both issues but u can't escape one of them, leveling kit is far as I'd take it

I see what this guy is getting at. Modding anything from 'stock' would normally cause different wear and tear. But if you use good parts, that were built correctly and designed right, your wear and tear shouldn't be an issue.

I have never lifted a truck so I can't really say too much. But I've lowered about a few hundred cars and there is a right way and a wrong way to do it. There are the good parts and bad parts. I've lowered cars down over 3 inches, have 0 camber issues and no additional tire or parts wearing out from it being modified. I've seen people cut springs, use cheap ebay parts, and not make proper adjustments and they'd blow shocks, ruin tires, and eat up half shafts like crazy. All the ones done right, not a single issue other than bottoming out on speed bumps.

Do the lift right, follow what the guys on here say and I'd bet money you won't run into any major issues.. Cut corners, and have fun posting for help.

way more truck = way more issues

plus tacomas are dainty little shopping carts that weigh less than a fairy's turd :poking:

f250's weigh about the same as a small church so gravity wears them out faster :bananadead:

I've had my 3" lift for about 3 years now and I havent had any issues at all. Listen to what the others say though, dont go cheap on a lift, you will regret it in the future. I would go with a full suspension lift and stay away from spacers.

In my 2006 I had the 5100s at 2.5" with 2" aal. It was a bit harsh but I liked it. One my 2010 I decided to get the toytec ULK at 3". Ride was nice but not worth the extra money IMO. In fact I kept hearing a pop sound coming from the drivers side front. I think on my 2012 I'm gunna go back to the 5100s again but front just set at 1.75 or 2". Good enough lift for me personally
