Is a pinion shim needed..?

    …for a 1” block in the rear. Currently has a 1.5” block AND a pinion shim. Want to lower just a bit.

    Probably not but nobody can say for sure. Depends if you get vibes and what the driveshaft angles are.

    Is there a range of shaft angle that is deemed acceptable by Toyota, and can they actually measure pinion angle? Or, is acceptable angle simply determined by symptoms?

    There is a spec range. Let me see if I can find it. It’s not Toyota specific it’s specific to the current angles on the vehicle.
