Is a slimline style front bumper considered high clearance

Curios, does a slimline provide any better clearance/improved approach angle than the factory bumper? Seems like the slimline add more bulk to the center of the bumper and would actually decrease the approach angle.

Google will give you endless pictures of "slimline", "lopro" etc bumpers to look at. Leaving the corners of the front end intact and installing a bumper in the center that provides more clearance/angle wouldn't be doing anyone a lot of good

 

The slimline bumper is about adding a winch, not increasing clearance. It certainly doesn't reduce it.

However, SSO developed a version with "wings" that increases clearance, but calling it a slimline style bumper is a bit of a stretch.

Maybe that is how I should have posed the question. The bigger issue is if it decreases it. Thanks for that clarification.
