My last truck was a Titan and I went through a lead acid battery every 2 to 3 years. 4th battery I spent a little more and got an AGM. When I sold the truck the AGM was still doing well and had easily outlasted the lead acid batteries.

I just replaced the OEM AGM battery in our Mercedes. It's a 2015. That's 8 Texas summers. Obviously the car was designed for AGM and also has an auxiliary battery (which I replaced last year as well) but it goes to show what one is capable of.

When I had a Miata I've only had to replace the AGM battery once in the 8 years of ownership.of course on the other side of the coin my motorcycles has an AGM and always on a Battery Tender but I only get 3 or so years out of one.

For me, they're worth the cost of entry if they do provide a longer service life.

If you get it tuned properly to utilize the AGM properly.

I’ve had an AGM battery for years and have read several posts about how it needs 14.4 volts to charge and to get that you need to retune. Well, I just bought a battery monitor and installed it today and it shows that the charge rate is 14.4 volts without any modification.
