I have a 2011 TRD soprt 4x4 and am looking into getting the taco box. I have talked to Fire931 and Wyatt at rock solid toys. They highly recommend it. I was wondering who if anybody is just running the taco box on the stock transfer case? And how do you like it?

from a different forum to the same question

"Nope. Using Inchworm's adapter we can go from the 6 speed trans but there is currently no adapter on the market to go back to the 6 speed t-case. You would have to use either a case from an earlier 5 speed or from behind an auto."

There is no one running the Marlin Crawler Taco box with the six speed transmission and the stock Six speed transfer case but I have come up with a solution. You can put the Marlin Taco box behind the six speed tranny by using the Inchworm coupler and the marlin adapter plate with the marlin seal adapter. Then you have to modify your stock case to the auto case.

This is how you do it.

    http://www.rocksolidtoys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112

We would swap out the front input shaft and planetary gear set from an auto t case for your six speed input shaft and planetary gear set. Then you just bolt it up and now you have the same thing that I have but with a six speed transmission and the electronic transfer case.

It can be done, it's just a little bit more work than bolting it up.

bcanders... just let me know when your ready to do it and I can get you the parts and the crawler box and I'll walk you through it. If your a member of RST you get the discount as well on all the parts.
