Is bigger better? Throttle body questions

I was looking into the benefits of a 4runner 2010+ 70mm throttle body (any info on gains would be appreciated) and I came across this http://m.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Universa...ke-Manifold-1G-2G-3G-/111465645485?nav=SEARCH

Thoughts? I'm guessing that the intake pipe might need an adaptor? Would it even help airflow past the 70mm mark? Why is water wet?

 

aint going to work, our motors are fly by wire and need the specific TB to work.

on a NA'd motor the dual vvti 1gr TB is pretty much pointless.... now if you are supercharged then it might get you some gains.

 

Larger TB diameter isn't going to do anything worthwhile unless you've already done a lot of other engine mods and you're actually lacking airflow. Wouldn't be worth the effort IMO.

 

Only thing I've done is a afe dry and magnaflow exhaust. I've also seen someone on here with their cats hollowed out. What's the benefit in that? In my understanding the cats don't really restrict any flow. Also is polishing the throttle body worth the time?

Some NA guys have upgraded to a larger throttle body and claim it helps a bit with low-end power and improves throttle response. If you're interested in doing it, it'd be much cheaper to send your current throttle body to maxbore.com and have them bore it out. To make use of any of the possible improvements you'd want to also add in a URD MAF Calibrator.
