The idea behind it is interestin as inhave looked into it in the past, but id rather something i can apply yearly and know works. Such as fluid film.

The general basis is that the electical current stops rust from forming. Not sure how well it works etc but its good in "theory"

I understand the theory (like anodes on bridges). I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with its efficacy.

It came with a block heater too. Maybe the Canadian ones come with this stuff.

Depends on province but block heaters are mandoatory in alberta and a 500+ charge for it. They also wont let you buy it and do it yourself which sucks because its plug and play/takes 15 min to install.

It hardly ever gets much below freezing here, so I've never had a block heater. It was already there, so I won't complain.

Yep, the Stealership sucked me in to buying the Diamond Kote gizmo too.

Because I live on the (extreme) west coast with lots of rain, fog and salt air, I figured it was a good thing. (I should have done some research first, but it is what it is.) Things rust out much quicker here than inland, especially brakes, exhaust, undercarriage, and anything metal that isn't fully protected. Guess I'll find out in a few years if it has made any difference. On the upside, I did suck them in to taking my F-150 on trade. (I pity the unlucky sod who ends up with it.)

    Cheers, Jules
