I plan on keeping it until it snaps in half. Hopefully that's not in 2 years. As for the video whoever did the coating was extremely unprofessional. Spraying things that should be covered as well as extremely heavy.

That is not true. When you cover fluid filmed part with dust it will stick to it creating a thin non sticky layer what will not grow in thickness. Fluid film will still be "fluid" under that layer as it will not sip into the dust. I have pictures to prove it :D.

Mud will still be building up inside boxed frame - fluid film or not. This is because Tacoma frame has crappy design with insufficient draining. However fluid film inside the enclosed frame will prevent that mud (or salty mud) from touching the bare metal. It is very hard to achieve it with paint unless you paint your frame by dipping it, which is quite unrealistic. It should have been done during manufacturing.

So in order to keep the frame next to pristine state (used to be California truck) I do my fluid film routine every year (pressure wash with hot soapy water, rinse, dry and then spray with fluid film). So far it works - I have zero surface rust.

is FF really an 'oil' that repels heavily directed waterspray or other substance without issue
i have been having difficulty with it adherring to the high splash areas in the rear wheel area
had to pork out 18 or $19 for a spray bottle of corrosionX HD to see if it sticks better or not in the trouble area
but its even more nasty than FF is

how is it 'quite unrealistic' to paint inside the frame?
i assume if you have FF all inside there everwhere it will be not possible unless its all cleaned out properly so that new HD internal frame coating can be sprayed everywhere :notsure: and seal it all up

i actually think i started off using the WD40 LTCI stuff last year
it washed off in the back wheels area very soon after application

    good video, thanks for posting

what time segment does he apply to the rear wheel well area so i can jump right into it and see what i am doing improperly

there is not bare metal inside the frame as far as i know and can see :notsure:

are you not able to squirm around underneath easily?
i had a difficult time on my shoulder squirming around in temps a bit below 50 F with one side of my truck ramped up for a bit more headroom
it was not a pleasant nor pretty sight plus old bones freezing
used a halogen lamp to see every bit so not to miss spots if possible

the local DIY lift rental garage here refused to let me spray any FF in his ghetto shop
i could brush it on though he said, just NO spraying

It is not what you can see, the more important part is what you can't see. What do you think is rusting inside? Paint? :)

For the best flow you should not have applied FF below 75F. NAS is thicker than spray can and it says right on the can to warm it to 77F before application.

i have no clue what is inside of there!?! there is paint coating in there because my tool has been pulling flakes out, some big some small
but i am waiting for weather to warm up and stick this new camera scope in there and see if the resolution is good enough to see what is going on

i have yet to see on TW an interior scoping of a frame to see what is all inside so this could be a trendsetter lol

that must be why it came out of the rattle can all funky yellow looking

I recently purchased a 2004 Tacoma. It has 150k miles on it with ZERO rust whatsoever anywhere on the frame. It didn't come from up North though. It came from South Carolina. However, if I lived up north I would make sure to treat the frame with something every other year at a minimum!
