Is gasoline brand consistency still a thing?

    Yes, it all comes from the same pipes and the "proprietary additive" is added at the terminal when they load. Same with ethanol which is always added at the terminal. Think of it like the carbonated soda dispenser. All of the carbonated drinks share the water source, but each nozzle injects the flavored soda syrup.

    I am starting to believe in going with top tier fuels. I am trying to stick with Chevron at the moment to see if I notice a difference.

    It may not be something that you really notice in the short to mid term. The difference is how clean TT fuels may keep your fuel system in the long run.

    My rig used to fart CONSTANTLY. Then I removed the TRuD exhaust and it quit. And here I was blaming it on the fuel. :notsure:

    I'm rarely in one location long enough for that to be a concern. I haven't really noticed difference in performance between brands but certainly in octane/ethanol

    This is half right I guess. I haul gas for a living. Additive is added as the tanker is being filled.

    The core gas is all the same though.

    I see 20+ different companies all filling off the same rack.
