If this grille is doable? how do I paint indigo blue on top of the chrome? and which paint? I do not think I have seen a grille like this yet:D

Ok, but for the grille it self....I would have to cut out the round Toyota emblem holder and replace it with the horizontal plastic off a second grille? Any grille expert plz:)

i would advise on getting a base model grille to do that. paint will not stick to the chrome well, no matter how well you prep it...you will start to get tiny rock chips out of the paint that will be shiny underneath...

He could sand it down and prime it, it should stick easily. but yeah i agree just get a base model grille and have the chrome on back up just in case you mess up

You would just have to do some body work to eliminate the old grill Logo spot. Cut it out then fiberglass over it. Sand, prime, paint, Everything is do able. If you had another grill that you could hack pieces off of then fiberglass them in it would be a lot less shaping work.

You could probably get that by cutting out the round part of the grille and continuing the horizontal piece with fiberglass. It'd take a decent amount of work but it can certainly be done. Be ready for a lot of sanding! There's a member on here who custom made her grille to mimic the SEMA Tacoma. She used wire mold and epoxy to make the center and bondo to make the transitions smooth. Paint is the easy part. I've got my paint on order from paintscratch.com.

You can definitely paint chrome colored plastic, otherwise the BHLM wouldn't work. Just scuff up the chrome and use adhesion promotor and primer. If you do it, take a lot of pictures!

Buy a sport grill, dont paint chrome. You will be way better off. There are some posts on here of places that are selling them at a reasonable price too.

I was thinking the same, hope fully a wreak yard will have a grille or I can get the OEM for $40. Lot of work indeed:rolleyes:
