The CRZ is actually a giant fail IMO. It tries to be 2 different cars, and doesn't do either of them well. It's slow and it doesn't get good gas mileage considering it's a light hybrid. There are plenty of non-hybrid cars that get better gas mileage and are faster. It really is a pointless car.

A sport hybrid is something pretty darn tough to engineer. This is where keeping it simple applies. I think vw gti and mini cooper are the only cars out that are sporty with really good mpg?

I'm a proud owner of a 1989 CRX SI that gets better gas mileage, and is quicker then that POS CRZ... WTF was honda thinking?

    Hyundai Genesis...

Just think, one day someone is going to ask you what kind of car you drive...

and for the price, i would just get a three year old 335i

You can always find something that's perhaps better that's used no matter what vehicle you're talking about it. Kind of comparing apples and oranges. And unless you're worried about displaying a status symbol badge on the front of your car it shouldn't matter if someone asks what you drive. I'd gladly rock a Genesis Coupe even if people want to laugh. The car can speak for itself. A shame that some people will always discount Hyundai as being junk regardless of the fact that they're making very good vehicles these days.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd love an M3.

It's OK but completely different animal. The Genesis sedan is like an Avalon and the Sonata more like a Camry. Those Genesis sedans start at 33k IIRC and that wouldn't be the whippityspank v8 version either.

It's only a chick car if it's in bright red, or pink and has a convertible.

Exactly. Most of the aftermarket support goes towards the 2.0T. Hyundai actually sells a basic car with all the good track features (LSD, Brembo brakes, floating calipers, etc) meant for track use or modifying in the 2.0T platform.

I've driven a lot of cars and applaud Hyundai for this one. Hopefully it pushes other Mfrs. for less expensive rwd sport cars.

That'd be the 2.0T Premium IIRC, It comes with the stuff you said plus driving lights and couple of other things. Ours is the base base......all the wife needs and wanted.

Nope, it's the R-Spec. Just a little more $$ than the base model with all the good performance stuff from the premium and track models without all the unnecessary 'luxury' stuff.

I will give it to them...they're doing a lot of things right (engine and package options). I'm curious now to see how well they hold up.

The genesis sedan looks like a copy of the lexus ls 460

I didn't think we were talking about Ferraris in this thread.. I was reffering to the Hyundai in particular.

You can't get a BMW for that price, not a good one anyway. Either way, you would be better off with a Civic Si than a base model BMW.
