If I met a dude or dudette that has an off-road with every available pro part, that makes it virtually indistinguishable from the real thing and then tries to argue that it is a pro, they have character flaw.
I gotta go and get back on my high horse.
    I say good-day sir.

    But seriously, it’s not a pro, it’s a proseur

The only thing not transferable is the VIN number, that's the only thing that makes it different in your example.

Mechanically and visually it's a Pro to the realist, take the badges off and they're the same truck.
The VIN digit makes it different to the purist.

    Enjoy your high horse.

    I've owned a 63 AMG.
Buy one keep for a year and then sell it. You'll lose 30% right off the top. A regular Mercedes maybe 18-20% loss in the 1st year.
Believe me I know. Buy an OR keep it for a year and you'll maybe loose 10%. A Pro 5% at most.
Hell, I bet right know I can sell mine for equal or more than I paid for it new.

What are you using to determine the value of the 2017 T4R?

Besides, you're not comparing a 4runner Pro clone to a real 4Runner Pro, you're comparing it to a stock OR.

If I take all the parts off a TRD Pro and replace them with SR-5 parts is it still a Pro? Asking for a friend

It’s not about a “high horse”.... it’s reality. why the insecurity?

LOL.... it has nothingto do with insecurity, you said you needed to get back on your high horse, I said enjoy your high horse, no hidden meanings there.

As for all of the Pro vs OR back and forth, I just have a good understanding of actual and perceived value, that's all.

Don’t you understand that value (whether actual or perceived) is entirely subjective?

that’s not even the topic at hand...

the topic is is a off road with pro parts a pro? The answer is no. Lol. It’s not a trick question.

this doesn’t take away from an off road. It doesn’t make it any less of a truck.

FWIW, I have an off road.

The Pro is nothing more than an offroad with more accessories checked off and the VIN designating as such.

Those accessories are available to anyone with the money and that's the rub Toyota created by not breaking out the Pro to being completely different.

People want to believe they're completely different but they're not, not when you can put one together in your driveway.

It all boils down to semantics and how hard you assign the Pro label, some do more literally than others. I don't really care on way or the other especially when you can make each truck the other mechanically and visually in a weekend.

But see, right there, you are over complicating yourself. You are even assuming what people believe or not. Lol

    this isn’t about that.

An Pro is a pro and an OR is an OR. Just like a man is a man and a woman is a woman. You can add this or that, remove this or that, install this or that but that won’t change what it was “born” as. In this case, what the vehicle came out of the factory as.

anyways... probably won’t change any kids here. Believe what you believe.

"If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck," doesn't apply unfortunately. LOL! Vehicle models are registered and stamped in the VIN.
