is it better to get the $300-$400 real trd pro grill or a knock off one for $150?

I want to put a trd pro grill on my trd off-road and don’t know if I should get a real one or a knock off.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
If I were to do so, I would probably get OEM. The price of OEM is outrageous, so that has kept me from buying one.

I bought the OEM one before all the knockoffs were a thing. Even with the knockoffs, I'd personally still buy OEM.

So far the knock off one I bought is doing well. The replicas are not made from inferior materials. The only difference is that you have to put on the letters and the moldinging’s edges are not perfect.

I don't buy knockoff anything. I put my feels where my wallet is unlike these people that scream buy American as they line up outside Hazard Fraught for more Chinese crapperware.

I have no experience with Pro grills, however after a recent restoration project I only purchase OEM body parts now. I found the $s saved on knock-off body parts isn't worth the poor finish quality and the "EXTRA TIME" required 'making' them fit.
Here's a few photos of poor finish quality "NEW" knock-off rear bumper and grill I received recently. I could have purchased better condition used parts from a junk yard. Ended up sending everything back and ordering all new OEM parts. They all came in perfect and were a breeze to install.

Doesn’t someone on here make a knock-off that is much cheaper?

sure, VIN makes it easier to locate your part one and done, although Toyota is outsourcing a lot of their OEM parts from around the world, even mainland China

Sometimes it's not about costs, it's about where you stand. I'm sure i'll get roasted for this. I have nothing against foreign made goods if they're from legitimate channels. If you buy counterfeit shit you lose all right to complain if the quality is low.

With that said I don't even think you can buy a real Pro grill anymore without a Pro VIN. I'd sure like to have one, but in the end I just don't give damn about modding this Camry with a box on the back.

Welcome to the forum from Eastern North Carolina.

"IF" I was to get one, I'd probably get a OE one. However, I like the way my SR5 grill looks.
