is it better to get the $300-$400 real trd pro grill or a knock off one for $150?

About a year on mine, seems to be fine, but then again mine is ceramic coated.

I installed my knock off yesterday from Cali-Raised. Not a single issue or complaint other than the OEM garnish for the TSS now has a $424 MSRP.

I’ve had both and the oem piece is of slightly better material.

You really think the OEM is not made in China?

Well, for $400, I could by 4 knockoffs, so, if it fades, just get another one. How long are we really going to debate this? Buy what you want, it's plastic. Who cares?

Frankly I doubt you that can buy any car/truck made that does not have parts from around the world in it.

Mine is from Mad Hornets too, I was pleasantly surprised as well with the letters. I hear some complaining about the TSS garnish not fitting right for 18s and 19s, but their website clearly says that a small mod needs to be made in order for it to fit (filing a tab).

Stick with the original grille and get a black SR grille surround. The Pro grille has been done to death.

Like I was taught, if one needs to ask how much, one probably shouldn’t be purchasing.

A completely blacked out SR/SR5 grill does indeed look beautiful. Even the cheese grater looks decent when completely blacked out and not like the home shopping network trying to sell me kitchen wares while driving.

Cali Raised makes a really good grille. Not sure how consistently they make a good product but I would bet on them. Mine is great and lettering looks oem. My dad got the cheaper version at about $130 and when I installed it I did notice the letters coloring was a little different but I’m a bit too observant at times.

Ugh I can't read through 6 pages of people's opinions to confirm no one said mine, and yet I'm oddly compelled to give my opinion anyhow.

It's a piece of plastic with virtually no functional purpose that could even justify a $10 price tag, much less $100 or $400. It's a cosmetic vanity item.

All the spinny, moving parts? OEM or high-end aftermarket. Luxury items, armor, or CAMPING GEAR? High-end aftermarket. Logo on the front of the truck? I'm inclined to throw that out to the lowest bid. If the Chinese plastic grille looks good from 5 feet away, then why exactly would you pay Toyota $350 extra for something that costs the same amount to manufacture as the shitty generic grille you already got?

Bought two knock offs from different sellers (Ebay and Madhornets), both had imperfections that would bug me on a daily basis. Ended up buying an OEM grille and couldn't be happier. If you shop around or have a friend who works for Toyota dealership, you can get the OEM grille for around $250.00.

I bought the cheapest garnish Amazon had. $23. Looks good, works fine.

    I didn't file jack shit.

Just pop it onto the fake grill, lock it down, and go.

They're both probably made in the same Chinese factory as the OEM parts, except they leave that factory by different doors. Injection molds are expensive to make.
