Basspro and walmarts shelves are bare. Heard people lineup at basspro for the ammo shipments. Glad I bought cases at a gunshow a few years back. Nothing like stocking up..:D

I have 30 cases of brand new ammo for my 7mm and 30 or so cases for my 270 weatherbe MAG... Cabels seems to always have the best selection and they have PLENTY to go around on thing is you have to pay for shipping but hey atleast you can get it

Here in Texas (Dallas, San Antonio) everywhere you go it is empty for .40 S&W, 9mm, .380ACP, .45ACP and most handgun ammunition (even the .22LR), at Laredo where I reside I work at one of the Academy's stores in town, and it is been a life cycle for these handgun ammunition, most of the time we have 9mm but we are struggling to keep a positive inventory in anything else, hunting ammo it is not a problem not even .223 or 7.62x39 or .308, we had not ever been empty on these. We start to see people visiting our town from northern Texas cities and they empty the shelves buying sometimes up to a 1000 rounds of a certain caliber (9mm /.40 S&W/.223/7.62x39) always the cheap brand. They always complain about Mr. Obama or what they might think about a "future" "something" to be happening; I really think they are creating this uncertainty feeling by doing this kind if purchases and keeping the shelves empty.

    My two pesos.

They didnt have any .40 the last 4-5 times I went looking at Turners; I've settled with reloads from the range.

Toytec ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper and full skid plates underneath. Looking into redoing the suspension and maybe repainting the ol' Taco.
Academy around Dallas has been pretty low. Went to three locations looking for 9mm, .38, .357mag and .45 lc. Only found 2 boxes of .357 and purchased 2 boxes of .38 special out of the 6 or 7 they had.

Seems like ammo supplies are very gradually improving, hard to say for sure but I'm seeing some 9mm, 40, 45, and 38/357 stuff, as well as 223. I haven't seen any 380 in quite a while, although don't personally care as I don't shoot that caliber. 308 rifle ammo is still pretty scarce too. Prices are all up from a year ago, however.

Primers are still a problem, although one store here has a fairly good supply of both large and small pistol primers, and shotgun primers as well. No rifle primers of any size can be found anywhere around here.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I bet all the gun and ammo makers are having a field day with this. Everyone freaked out and cleaned off the shelves, thus-surprise- no more ammo and higher prices.

Sort of reminds me of a little skit Johhny Carson got in trouble for in the 70's. He claimed that there was going to a toilet paper shortage. People believed him, stormed the stores and the shelves were empty... which made even MORE people flock to stores and buy all the toilet paper they could. Problem was solved when the stores just kept the shelves stocked.

.223 is horribly expensive here in VA at Bass Pro Shops. They have some 9 mill, some .45, and a ton of .40 ACP. I plan to get a Springfield Handgun in a .40 ACP sometime soon, only because ammo availability, less recoil and same punch as a .45, and it's cheaper. :D

Ah, nice. :D I've been looking for hollow points for a long time now, and finally I've found someone who will sell them. the Wal-Mart in my area didn't have them for the longest time, but I'll go and check. Thanks again. :)

3 boxes of .40 S&W 180 grain Magtech at wally world last night...$12.47 a box! don't know if it shoots well or not, but was willing to try it for a $4 difference in price compared to WWB 180's.

anyone use the cheap Magtech before?

I stocked up on reloading components, and .22 ammo before the Kenyan took office. If I need a batch of ammo for the range, I just fire up my XL650.
No scrounging for ammo at Wal-mart for me.
