9mm is a rare sight these days. www.Bassproshops.com has had some bulk 9mm for 45 bucks. 250 round packs. They are usually backordered but it only takes a few weeks to get it. Good deal.

I was at my local WallyWorld last night after work. The behind the counter ammo shelf was 95% empty!

i had no problems getting ammo until recently. I went to get some last weekend and i guess people are giving ammo as gifts (where do i sign up?) they were all sold out during the black friday weekend.

Here in Nova Scotia we are still pretty good. I was in Presque Isle, ME three weekends ago and was at Walmart. There were 17 boxes of ammo on the shelves, it probably would hold 500 boxes. There wasn't a lot of shotgun ammo either. The K-Mart had nothing at all.
I am not worried about availability of big game calibres, I don't shoot a lot of that. My .22-250 on the other hand I like to keep a hundred rounds or so ahead. We are on the cusp of a coyote population explosion up here. The recent confirmed coyote killing of a young lady in Cape Breton a couple of months back has certainly raised the hackles of the populace. Fine by me, I love to hate coyotes. If there was a deer and a coyote standing side by side, I would shoot the coyote every time.
Back to ammo, the president of our gun club reloads for a living, so I suspect that I will be fine for .22-250 as well.

    Nothing at the moment
I was talking to a gun shop owner last week and he mentioned to me that the supply of ammo is available, but the suppliers aren't distributing it because there is a new tax that will be placed on all ammo after the first of the new year. He didn't have much info on it, and this is the first that I've heard of it, but he makes his living selling ammo so he'd know more than me. Anyways, he told me that the last order he placed was for 25,000 rounds (total of everything assorted) and he only received 3,500 total rounds.

Personally I've noticed .223, .45, and 9mm have been the hardest to come by near me.

The only thing I have found hard to find is 380 ACP. It's nice to have 2 Bass Pro Shops, a Cabelas, and several Academy's within a 30 mile radius of the house. I have been buying ammo for my 45 and 9mm at Academy.

Two things guys, these copper ammos are pricey in CA. Infliction on deer is also another thing too! Some hunters say that some hollow point rnds dont expand. I'm starting to believe it too because a friend shot one at 65 yrds with 30-06. Three dark blood spats. No dead deer to be found. It's unbelievable the buck was nowhere to be found in the proximity. What do you guys think?

Anybody want to buy my stripped AR lower at 2008 prices?
