Is it just me, or does the stock grill "work" with Silver Sky Metallic?

Black it out on a SSM if you are counting votes. The chrome razor wire 3rd gen grill is one of the design changes that I found really annoying. Too "sparklie" for lack of a better word. Love the Quicksand color but not sure what to do with the grille if I had one. Probably make a custom grill, or paint the cross bars the body color. This will keep me up all night . . . .:notsure:

I hear ya. I think I'm gonna rock the chrome until every other Tacoma has a blacked out, plastidipped, or TRD grill. At that point, I will know I have maintained my ability to think for myself. I liked it when I first saw it, and dagnammit......I'm sticking to my opinion! :crapstorm:

Before my wreck, I had the factory grill plasti-dipped - just the center section, the chrome trim ring and emblem stayed chrome.

After the wreck it was replaced with another factory grill and I'm really conflicted on which one I like better. They both look good with SSM. I can't decide if I want to plasti-dip the new one or not..

Before (sorry for the shitty pic):

Friend of mine has a 2016 Barcelona Red and the stock chrome razor wire grille looks good on his for some reason. Now my head hurts. Did I make the right decision to get a 15 SSM? Was debadging the right choice? When did Happy Days jump the shark? Should I paint the grille Colbolt blue?:annoyed:

Stock grill does look good on the silver. Others... not so much.

I have to admit that the Stock bug-strainer does look better on the Silver - However on my Barcelona it was a huge mismatch. In fact, if you look at the picture of mine on the left - The Chrome Tubes are gone, replaced with black N-Fabs and the Grille is now a black TRD Pro...Black and Red were meant for each other. I like it too! I'm joining you and having my SR5 grille swapped out tomorrow with a black chrome OR grille.

I have the SSM and I think the grill looks fine...agree maybe better than some of the others. No plans to paint or dip or replace it...plan to keep the truck stock and keep it for 20 years if it'll let me.

It does blend in more nicely on the silver.

I like it. I love the way these trucks look.

If I got a pro grill or aftermarket grill in the future it wouldn't be because I dislike the stock chrome one.

No matter what, I still see a cheese grater when I look at the stock grill...

There are trucks the stock grill looks right on. I can't put my finger on what makes the difference. Some red trucks look good with it. Black, definitely the silver. Depends. But sometimes it plays.

Your not nuts ! Imho as I see more Tacoma's everyday more than anybody that doesn't live in Hawaii. The electric shaver aka brace teeth aka cheese grater looks best on the Silver Sky
    than all the other colors.
    But that's just my opinion...

    Nice rig OP !

I like the stock cheese grater look on Silver and MGM, but that's just me and for my truck that's all that matters.

I think my Nerelco looks great on the Silver. Personally, I do not like the derped - "blacked" out spray grill. Might get some flak, but too each his own.
