Personally I think the majority of the comments here come from people who don't know jack squat. And for all those people that just said to go buy a Toyota replacement... I've spoken with a local dealer. The cost for this shift knob is almost $200 which is outrageous. If you don't like my comments... Kiss my... I don't know you and couldn't give a crap about you.

$200? yeah that's probably them installing it with a half hour of labor cost. Google it. You'll find plenty of TRD shift knobs for under $100.

End of the day, you have stitching on your 5 year old truck that you're not happy with. That's completely fine and your right. But it's called wear and tear. Buy a replacement (Toyota or universal) and continue on enjoying your truck.

David, these guys here have been through tons of Toyota dealership problems,so they are pretty well versed in what Toyota will tell you, your shift knob is a wear item, your truck is 5 years old,the fine print on the warranty says its not covered, what else is there to say.

I feel for you. Dealing with stealerships and Toyota is a pain but it is just a shift knob that Toyota farmed out to some low life
company in order to save 2 dollars and they made it badly. Shop around for another one.

Here's the two commonly available TRD accessory shift knobs for the manual trans in your Tacoma. One is $29, the other $52. From Toyota no less! :goingcrazy:

Being pissed at Toyota won't help, and as you've already learned; there's no sympathy from the TW masses for you. This guy though, maybe he'll lend you a sympathetic ear:

I would have bought one that I liked, and installed it in the first day that it annoyed me this much!

If you don't give a crap about our opinions. Then why state you feelings in a public forum. Did you think that we'd all agree with you and join you in your venting. This is what happens when you do this. People will either agree with you or disagree with you.

It seems like most people don't agree with you making such a big deal over a shifter knob. It's been two weeks and you're still going off about it.

You can tell all of us to kiss your ass, but that doesn't help your situation nor will it help you win people over.

If neither was the point of all this, then l don't see why you would join a forum where you just crapped on everyone who doesn't agree with you or offered you advice.

And yes l know you don't know me or give a crap about me. Boo Hoo Hoo :lalala:
