Is it just me or does the auto transmission have more get up and go then the manual transmission? Both v6's

you could probably find the transmission gear ratios and compare them. Also the rear axle.
That said,,, I have never heard this before, it's usually only never to return first time posters and 2 genners bitching and complaining about the Tacoma's A/T.

I believe the mt has lower gears in the transmission and same in the rears. Maybe it's just harder to get the perfect gear with the short powerband of the v6

The ratios are completely different in the trans and differential. You can find them on here.

if you regear the automatic to 4.88, it puts it fairly close to the manual

Also it’s just you. The auto is a pig.

My wife's 20 the auto is awesome. My 17 the auto sucked. Made me get the manual. I love it but still have to shift a lot
