If you are getting near the redline you speed racer, I can get a lead foot more so when traveling longer distances and I never hit the redline, even hauling my camper, I hate even going over 4K for any length of time. I did have a Jeep engine blow once so freaks me out a little antway, I don't think the rpm was the cause of the blown engine, I believe the rpms ran high because the engine was about to go. But I'll never really know.

 

Send it to the red line. Red line wheeling is the best.

 

What engine did you have ion your Jeep?

 

The POS 3.8L, it was a 2007. The only thing that Jeep was good for was costing me $$. I did have a lot of fun with it but it didn't out weight the cost. I got way more bang for my buck out of my Trailblazer, Rubicons couldn't follow me in that beast.

 

I redline my truck all the damn time.... close my eyes and pretend I’m driving an Rx7.... BOOM BOOM POP POP POW BOOM.

I used to have a Cherokee with the 4.0 litre. I had good low end torque but didn't like to rev to redline.

 

The 4.0 was a good engine. I would have loved to have that in my jeep.

 

A lot of jeep people miss the 4.0. It was hard on fuel but damn near impossible to kill that engine.

 

The only dealership around me that had an off-road for some reason came with Katzkin seats that added nearly 5k to price. $44,200ish total.

 

When I was much younger (and dumber), I put a Honda Pilot in neutral and let it bounce off the rev limiter for a solid 10-15 minutes in an attempt to see if I could blow the engine. That car is still running to this day and has over 250K miles of HARD driving.

I gotta say, I haven't found the need to redline my Tacoma yet though. My motorcycle on the other hand sees redline at least once every time I ride.

 

I had a Civic for 18 years. Never went through a tank of gas without hitting the redline a few times. Never had a problem.

After I bought the truck I realized this engine drives best when you drive it like you stole it. I do that frequently going straight. I grandma it around turns to save the tires.

 

I’m guessing you only cross streets using crosswalks because if chose to keep playing with fire u get burnt.
